Tuesday, April 1

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second St.

BFPD responded to a residential alarm on N. Larimer County Road 23. Upon arrival to the residence the homeowner explained there was an unknown alarm sounding in the crawl space. The crew searched and located a propane leak detector on the boiler that was in alarm. There were no readings found of propane, so it was determined to be a false alarm.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on U.S. Highway 287.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Larimer County Road 6. The crew was unable to locate an accident.

Wednesday, April 2

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on First Street for chest pain. The patient was transported.

Thursday, April 3

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for chest pain on Second St. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Turner Avenue. The patient was deceased.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person who had been bitten by a dog on SW 49th Street.

Friday, April 4

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at Valley Dirt Rider track. A female patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Saturday, April 5

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Weld County Road 3. The crew found a controlled five-acre fire burning in a field and ditch. The responsible party had the fire under control and had authorization to burn.

BFPD responded to a large animal rescue on Singing Water Court. The crew found the owners trying to dig their horse that was buried to its belly and upper shoulder in sinking mud alongside the Little Thompson River. Loveland Fire also assisted and equipment was hauled in via a pickup truck. Shovels were used to make a trench to remove water and carefully dig out around the horse. Slings were placed underneath the horse for lifting points and the horse was able to pull itself clear of the mud, uninjured.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. This was a three-car accident with minor damage and no injuries were reported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center for a patient transfer.

Sunday, April 6

BFPD responded to a medical call for a female who had fallen on Columbine Circle. The crew and TVEMS assisted with lifting the patient back to her bed. No other assistance was needed and the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to coverage of Station 3 in Loveland due to an extended rescue in the Big Thompson canyon.

Monday, April 7

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Second St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a person who fell out of their wheelchair on Ninth St. The crew assisted with lifting the patient.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to Columbine Circle for a fall. The crew assisted TVEMS by lifting the patient into their chair.

Tuesday, April 8

BFPD responded to a report of smoke southwest of North LCR 31. The found a barbeque cooker creating the smoke at a residence on Sprague Lane.

Wednesday, April 9

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on W. County Road 10E. This was a two-car smash up with moderate damage, but no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for cardiac arrest on Brehm Road. The crew arrived finding the patient’s spouse performing CPR. The crew and TVEMS took over care and transported the patient.

Thursday, April 10

BFPD responded to a medical call with TVEMS for a person having seizures at the Valley Dirt Rider track.

Friday, April 11

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on W. County Road 8.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of County Road 8E and Hulson Place. A single rider sustained multiple abrasions and back pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted a person who walked into Station 2 complaining of severe pain in the left side. The patient was transported.

Saturday, April 12

BFPD responded to an oil spill on County Road 8. 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid from a semi truck had spilled in the intersection. The crew cleaned the hazardous material.

Sunday, April 13

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The call was cancelled when they arrived.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 253. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at mile marker 253 on Interstate 25. This was a single vehicle rollover accident. The vehicle was found resting on the passenger side with moderate damage to the car. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on S. Highway 287 northbound. A singe vehicle sustained moderate damage due to icy conditions. There were no injuries reported. The crew remained on scene to assist with traffic control.

Monday, April 14

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Brehm Road for an individual with chest pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for cardiac arrest on Yellowstone Road. The patient was pronounced deceased soon after arrival.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The vehicle was found in a field off the roadway. TVEMS administered medical care for a occupant who was injured.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for breathing problems on Second Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Mountain Ave. There was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries reported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on CR 15C for a fall victim. The patient had fallen and injured their shoulder. The patient was transported.

Thursday, April 17

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250 southbound. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene of the accident prior to the fire crew’s arrival. TVEMS assumed patient care for the passenger of the car. The fire crew assisted with lighting and traffic control.

BFPD assisted a citizen with their smoke alarm on Colorado Ave.

Friday, April 18

BFPD responded to a medical call on Third Street. When TVEMS arrived it was determined that the patient needed to be transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.

Saturday, April 19

BFPD responded to a large animal rescue for a horse caught in a fence on Weld County Road 1. The crew was able to free the horse from the fence and got it to its feet.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for chest pain on Blue Mountain Ave. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire possibly threatening structures on North Horseshoe Circle. This was a controlled fire in a contained fire pit.

BFPD responded to Second Street for a person complaining of abdominal pain. TVEMS evaluated the patient and cleared the fire crew from the scene.

Sunday, April 20

BFPD responded to a report of smoke in the area of 49th Street SW. The crew found a small burn pile being extinguished upon their arrival. The resident did not have a burn permit and was advised to obtain a permit if they plan any future burns.

Monday, April 21

BFPD responded to a medical call on McColm Street for a person who had fallen. The fire crew assisted the patient into his wheel chair and then cleared the scene.

Tuesday, April 22

BFPD responded to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of an over-turned boat with two parties in the water, in a lake on County Road 31. The crew found the two parties were out of the water and the fire crew cleared the scene.

Wednesday, April 23

BFPD responded to a residential structure fire on Derby Hill Drive in Loveland. The fire was on the deck and was being extinguished as the fire crew arrived. The fire crew remained on scene until Loveland fire verified that the fire had been confined to the deck and that there was no fire extension into the structure.

BFPD assisted a walk in citizen who was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. The fire crew assisted with medical care until the arrival of TVEMS. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a child who had fallen on Ninth Street and Mountain Ave. The fire crew was unable to locate an injured child in the area.

Friday, April 25

BFPD responded with TVEMS to Mayo Court for a person who had fallen.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Ninth Street.

Saturday, April 26

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Fifth Street.

BFPD responded to a dive rescue at Welch Reservoir. Upon arrival, crew was informed that the body had been retrieved by TVEMS and the person was pronounced dead. Many bystanders were interviewed to determine whether the victim was alone in the boat and when it was last seen. It was believed to have been an accident from the previous evening. The dive team entered the water to search the area around the boat for any evidence that may have been needed. Several items were recovered from the water. The incident was left with the coroner, Berthoud Police Department and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.

BFPD responded to a reported trash fire on Weld County Road 1. The fire crew found a controlled agricultural burn.

BFPD responded to a person requesting assistance with a control ditch burn on Weld County Road 1 that got out of control and the fire was burning some nearby trees. The responsible party had extinguished the fire upon BFPD’s arrival.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Weld County Road 5 and Highway 56. A responsible party was burning his irrigation ditch. The crew advised him to extinguish the burn due to high winds.

Sunday, April 27

BFPD responded to a residential carbon monoxide alarm on Second Street. The crew searched the residence with detectors and all levels were normal. The crew replaced the battery in the detector.

BFPD responded to a reported bonfire on West County Road 4. The responsible party did not have a burn permit so they were told to extinguish the fire and obtain a permit for future burns.

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm on Seventh Street and Bunyan Avenue. This was a false alarm caused by construction in the building.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Sixth Street and Mountain Avenue.

Monday, April 28

BFPD responded to a medical call on Meining Road. The patient was deceased upon arrival.

Tuesday, April 29

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on North CR 21 at the request of Berthoud Police.

BFPD responded to a reported power line down on Weld County Road 5. The fire crew blocked the road until Poudre Valley REA responded and then cleared debris from the road.

BFPD responded to a cut gas line on N. 83rd Ave. A landscape company had cut a gas line south of the house. Excel responded and stopped the leak.

Wednesday, April 30

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. This was a three-vehicle accident with moderate damage to each vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
