Incident activity for August 2012

 

 

Wednesday, August 1

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. Three to five spot fires were found on the shoulder of northbound I-25. The fires were extinguished.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Goose Hollow Lane. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Thursday, August 2

BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. A semi truck with a trailer hit a deer, which broke components of the braking system causing a fire. The driver had extinguished the fire before the crew’s arrival. The crew assisted with traffic control as the semi was blocking traffic.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Rapid Court for a patient who had fainted. Berthoud Fire turned patient care over to TVEMS.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. A vehicle had hit a light pole and the driver sustained minor injuries.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Highway 56 at Brookside Gardens. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

BFPD assisted a person who walked into Fire Station 1 on Mountain Ave. The individual was having breathing difficulties. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a medical call for diabetic complications on Shelby Dr. The crew assisted the patient until the arrival of TVEMS and the patient care was transferred to them.

Friday, August 3

BFPD responded to a medical call on Windchime Court. A female was found lying on the ground in the driveway, complaining of shoulder pain from a fall. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a smoke investigation in the area of Weld County Roads 7 and 38 near Wagon Trail. This was an illegal burn and the owner was told to extinguish the burn pile and obtain a permit from Weld County before burning in the future.

BFPD responded to a report of smoke in the area of N. County Road 31. The fire crew searched in the surrounding area and determined that there was no smoke or fire in the area.

BFPD responded to a possible dive rescue for a person having a seizure at Rainbow Lake. The patient was out of the water upon arrival. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Monday, August 6

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with chest pain on West County Road 8. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Tuesday, August 7

BFPD responded to a report of a fuel leak following a motor vehicle accident on Highway 56. The crew cleaned the leaking fluids and assisted with removing the vehicles from the traffic lane.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Second Street for an individual with chest and abdominal pain. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient for transport.

Friday, August 10

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a walk in medical patient at Fire Station 1 on Mountain Ave.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on South County Road 23E and West County Road 4. This was a two-vehicle T-bone collision with moderate damage to both vehicles. There were minor injuries reported. The fire crew assisted with fluid leaks and traffic control.

BFPD responded to a reported motorcycle accident on S. County Road 13. Upon reaching the dispatched intersection there were no signs of an accident. The surrounding areas were searched but nothing was found.

Saturday, August 11

BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire on the east side of Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. The crew was unable to find a fire in the area.

Sunday, August 12

BFPD responded with TVEMS to the Valley Dirt Rider track for a motorcycle accident. A rider had sustained a minor concussion. The patient chose to seek further medical care but was not transported.

 

Monday, August 13

BFPD responded to a smoke investigation at a residence on Breckenridge Drive. The crew found  no signs of smoke or fire.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Glen Drive.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Gunn Ave. A motorcyclist had lost control and droven off the side of the road. The injured rider was taken to the hospital.

Thursday, August 16

BFPD responded to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.

Saturday, August 18

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a person chest pain on 10th Street. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who had fallen. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. This accident involved two motorcyclists who were both injured. Both patients were transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Keep Circle. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported fire on County Road 21. This was an illegal burn and the owner was advised of the burn permit procedure and was informed that the fire must be extinguished.

Monday, August 20

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a patient transfer from Berthoud Living Center to the hospital.

BFPD responded to a reported fire alarm at a business on 2nd Street. There were no signs of smoke or fire.  The problem was a faulty fire alarm.

BFPD responded to a reported hazardous material leaking from a truck on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. Approximately 150 gallons of contents from a porta- potty spilled onto the roadway after the vehicle blew a tire. The fire crew controlled traffic and helped with mitigation of the cleanup.

BFPD responded to a medical call on N. 2nd Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, August 23

Loveland Fire requested BFPD to cover Loveland Fire Station 3 when their equipment responded to a structure fire on W. 9th Street in Loveland.

Friday, August 24

BFPD assisted with a medical call on N. 83rd Street. The fire crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire by covering their Station 3 while they were on a structure fire.

Saturday, August 25

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Highway 56. The crew did not find an accident in the area.

BFPD responded to Keep Circle for a person who had fallen and sustained a laceration to the head. The crew assisted TVEMS with the patient.

BFPD responded to a reported outdoor odor investigation on Foothills Dr. The smell came from the family dog, which had apparently had an altercation with a skunk.

Sunday, August 26

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 15. This was a single vehicle accident and the driver was injured and transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249 involving two vehicles that sustained moderate front-end damage. There were no injuries reported. The crew controlled hazards and cleared debris from the roadway.

Monday, August 27

BFPD responded to a medical call on Weld County Road 36. This was an accidental life alert activation.

Tuesday, August 28

BFPD responded to a fuel spill on the roadway on 8th St. A three gallon container of diesel fuel had fallen from a truck. The crew cleaned and contained the spill.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Meining Road. The crew assisted TVEMS with moving the patient to be transported.

Wednesday, August 29

BFPD responded to a medical call on 6th St.

BFPD responded to a call for a bicyclist on Highway 287 who was feeling ill. TVEMS took over patient care and the fire crew left the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 9th St. The patient with respiratory problems was transported.

Friday, August 31

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 247. The crew found an abandoned vehicle in the median.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 9th St. A man had fallen from a ladder approximately 12 feet. The patient had multiple injuries and was transported.
