Incident Activity January 2017

 

Sunday, January 1

BFPD was dispatched to a structure fire for mutual aid. Cancelled enroute. No fire, no emergency.

BFPD responded to a medical call at 855 Franklin Ave. BFPD started patient care until the arrival of TVEMS. BFPD assisted TVEMS in loading the patient.

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of Franklin Ave. for a CO detector activation, no patients involved. Using the gas monitor the crew checked for the house for CO. The residents were advised to have their furnace checks as soon as possible and informed of signs and symptoms of CO poisoning, with instructions to call 911 if anyone in the household developed the symptoms.

Monday, January 2

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 4700 block of Karen Court for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Engine 1 responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a female with a laceration. TVEMS assumed patient care. Patient was not transported.

Berthoud Fire responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Tuesday, January 3

BFPD responded to the 200 block of 3rd Street for a fall victim. A woman that had fallen and needed assistance in getting back into bed.

Engine 1 was dispatched to I-25 mm 251 SB for a vehicle roll over. The crew found a single vehicle with moderate damage. The accident was non-injury and there were no hazards. The crew turned scene over to CDOT.

BFPD responded to Hwy 287 for a car vs. semi- truck motor vehicle accident with 2 parties trapped. Engine 2 arrived and was assigned to setup for extrication. Larimer County Sheriff Office arrived to assist with traffic control and accident investigation. Extrication took 26 minutes and both parties were transported.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 100 block of Bein Street for a lift assist. 

BFPD responded to the 100 block of Bein Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted TVEMS with packaging patient for transport.

Wednesday, January 4

BFPD responded to the 1800 block of Chaparro Circle for chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Engine 1 responded to the 300 block of Victoria Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Squad 11 and TVEMS responded to the 700 block of Mt. Massive Street for a fall victim. The crew was greeted at the door by the daughter, she stated the patient fell and was complaining of hip and arm pain. Patient care was handled by TVEMS and Squad 11 assisted in loading the patient into the ambulance.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 248 SB for a single car with light damage in the median with all parties out. The scene was turned over to Weld County Sheriff.

Thursday, January 5

Squad 11 responded to the 10000 block of Yellowstone Road for a medical. TVEMS did an assessment of patient, Squad 11 assisted with packaging of the patient for transport.

Friday, January 6

BFPD responded to the 4600 block of LCR 2 for a barn fire. This was a small, single story barn with flames showing from the roof of the structure. The cause of the fire was most likely a heating lamp in the barn. The fire was quickly knocked down, and overhaul operations were initiated.

Berthoud Engine 1 was dispatched to the 500 block of Pyramind Peak Street for a man having chest pains. TVEMS assumed medical care and utilized E1’s crew for assistance.

BFPD responded to Subway Shop for a male having a seizure. Larimer County Sheriff Deputies were on scene with command.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Monday, January 9

BFPD was dispatched to the 3600 block of Larimer Cty Road 8 for a building collapse. The crew found a medium single story agricultural building that had been blown apart by high winds. The crew checked on the livestock that were housed in the building. The livestock were alive and roaming the pasture. Berthoud Fire generated a reverse 911 to warn the area of flying debris.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 800 Ranchhand Drive for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted TVEMS with packaging patient for transport.

Squad 11 responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Changed out batteries in homeowners smoke and CO detectors in the 800 block of 13th Street.

Tuesday, January 10

Changed out batteries in homeowner’s CO detectors in the 800 block of 13th Street.

Thursday, January 12

Engine 2 assisted TVEMS with a medical on the 300 block of Colorado Avenue.

Squad 11 was dispatched to the 4900 block of Iowa Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.

Homeowner needed batteries changed in their smoke detector in the 800 block of Welch Avenue. Berthoud Squad 11 could not locate a CO detector. The crew informed the homeowner the importance of purchasing one. The homeowner stated she was going to purchase a CO detector the same day.

Sunday, January 15          

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Monday, January 16

Berthoud Fire responded to the 600 block of 6th Street for fainting. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to Hwy 287 and Cty Road 4E for a two-car motor vehicle accident. TVEMS transported one patient and Engine 1 blocked traffic until Colorado State Patrol arrived. When Larimer Cty Sheriff Office arrived Engine 1 was relieved of traffic control duties.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 600 block of Wilfred Road. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging of patient for transport.

Tuesday, January 17

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1400 block of Maple Drive for a medical emergency. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a laceration. The patient was sitting in the bathroom with a cut on the patient’s lower leg. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted TVEMS with packaging patient for transport.

Wednesday, January 18

Berthoud Engine 1 and Squad 11 responded to I-25 mm 250 SB. A single vehicle had crashed in the center median and all parties were out of the vehicle. Colorado State Patrol arrived and confirmed that the crash was non-injury. With the arrival of the tow truck, Engine 1 assisted with traffic control.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 1600 block of Gaucho Court for a female who had fallen in her home. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to the 500 block of 8th Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted TVEMS with packaging the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire responded to Larimer Cty 17 just north of the intersection for a 2-car motor vehicle accident. The vehicles had light damage and Larimer Cty Sheriff was on scene. TVEMS reported there was an improperly installed car seat in one of the vehicles. The crew encouraged the driver to stop by Station 1 and get a car seat check from a car seat technician.

Thursday, January 19

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 2400 block of Pheasant Run for a fall victim. They found a 67-year-old male who needed assistance in getting up. The crew lifted him back into the wheel chair.

BFPD had a female walk in to Station 1 for a blood pressure check. Thompson Valley EMS was requested to respond to assist with patient. Patient was transported to local hospital for treatment.

Friday, January 20

Berthoud Fire responded to Hwy 287 for an automobile with a fuel line that was broken and leaking. The crew shut down the car and no hazards were found.

BFPD was dispatched to the 600 block of Bristlecone Court for a person experiencing chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire Station 2 responded to the 3900 block of Nations Way for a citizen assist. The homeowner needed assistance with changing smoke detectors in his house.

Saturday, January 21

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to 1300 block of 1st Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to the 700 block of 3rd Street for a person with breathing problems. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire Station 2 was dispatched to the 800 block of Schofield Road for a 69-year-old unconscious female. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire Squad 11 responded to the 1700 block of Cty Road 4 for a 78-year-old female having breathing problems. TVEMS arrived on scene and assumed patient care.

Sunday, January 22

BFPD responded to 1100 block of Shelby Drive for a 60-year-old male reported with a diabetic problem. TVEMS arrived and patient care was transferred to them.

Monday, January 23

BFPD responded to the 1600 block of Maple Drive for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and Squad 11 helped with packaging the patient for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a male who had fallen. The crew helped TVEMS package the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 800 block of Mountain Avenue for a male who had fallen off the curb. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 2100 block of Sherlyn Court for a 93-year-old female who had fallen. Upon the arrival of TVEMS, patient care was transferred.

Tuesday, January 24

Berthoud Fire responded to Mountain Avenue for 2 vehicles with minor damage. All parties were out of the vehicles. One driver wanted to be checked out by TVEMS, the crew assisted with traffic control until all vehicles were out of the roadway.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue for a baby choking. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Wednesday, January 25

BFPD was dispatched to the 1500 block of Hollyberry Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 3800 of Meining Road for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 100 Tavner Court for a 70-year-old female having diabetic problems. Upon the arrival of TVEMS the crew assisted with packaging of the patient for transport.

Thursday, January 26

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 3800 block of Larimer County Road 8 for a male who had fallen off a horse. TVEMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred to the paramedics. The crew assisted placing the patient on the long board for transport.

Friday, January 27

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 1200 block of Cedar Drive for a stroke victim. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with packaging of the patient for transport.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with transporting a patient at Berthoud Living Center.

Monday, January 30

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 800 block 0f 13th Street for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with patient loading for transport.

Tuesday, January 31

BFPD responded to the 3400 block of North Shore for a person with seizures. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was transported.

Berthoud Engine 1 was dispatched to the intersection of So. County Road 15 and E. County Road 6 for a dog bite. TVEMS arrived on scene and assumed patient care.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 600 block of Mountain Avenue for an allergic reaction. TVEMS assumed patient care and determined that the patient did not need to be transported.

BFPD responded to Keep Circle for a possible drug overdose. TVEMS arrived on scene and assumed patient care.
