Incident Activity July 1-8

Sunday, July 1

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of Weld Cty Road 42 for an 82-year-old woman who had fallen and injured her hip. TVEMS arrived and assessed the patient. The patient was then loaded and transported to the local hospital.

Monday, July 2

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of W Larimer Cty Road 8 for a 79-year-old woman not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 200 block of Bein Street for a sick person. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS, the patient was assisted into the ambulance and was transported.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird Place for a woman who had fallen. She stated that she tripped and fell on the step. TVEMS immobilized her shoulder and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 2000 block of N. Larimer Cty Road 23 for a 79-year-old woman having chest pains. TVEMS arrived on scene and she was packaged and loaded for transport.

Tuesday, July 3

BFPD responded to the 12000 Legacy Heights Drive for an 85-year-old man having breathing problems. Patient was then placed on oxygen and packaged for transport.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 3000 block of Indian Blind Drive for a wildfire. The crew located approximately 10 people in the front yard, with a man monitoring a fire in a fire pit. Engine 16 extinguished the fire and informed the residents of the new fire ban that was implemented earlier in the day. The residents were very cooperative. The crew explained the new fire ban and gave them some resources to look up in case they had any more questions about the ban.

Wednesday, July 4

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of 6th Street for a lift assist.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 200 block of Sioux Drive for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 23 responded to 6000 block of Panoramic Drive for a grass fire. Engine 23 extinguished the fire along with assistance from Loveland’s crews. Once the fire was extinguished the engine was re-positioned for better access to help with mop up. Once mop up was complete, Engine 23 was released by command.

Friday, July 6

BFPD responded to the 300 block of E. Colorado Avenue for a 95 -year-old woman not feeling well. TVEMS transported the patient.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the Berthoud Family Physicians office to help TVEMS package a 72-year-old woman for transport.

BFPD responded to the intersection of 8th Street and Welch Avenue for a fuel spill due to a motor vehicle accident.

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of Nations Way for a 79-year-old female who had fainted. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 2000 block of Blue Mtn. Avenue for an 84-year-old man having diabetic problems. TVEMS assumed patient care and the patient was transported.

Saturday, July 7

BFPD responded to the 900 block of Gateway Park Blvd. for a female having an allergic reaction. The patient was packaged and loaded for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 800 block of Bunyan Avenue for a citizen assist. The crew used the big EZ to open the car.

BFPD was dispatched to the 700 block of 4th Street for a lift assist.

BFPD responded to the 900 block of N. Cty Road 31 for a motor vehicle non-injury accident. Command was turned over to Colorado State Patrol when they arrived.

Berthoud Fire responded to an engine compartment fire in the 1400 block of Woodcock Street. The owner of the vehicle stated he had just finished driving the vehicle when he noticed smoke coming from the car. The fire stared in the back of the engine compartment and was contained to that area, but the smoke filled the rest of the vehicle. The fire area indicates mechanical failure. The fire was put out, area overhauled and investigation complete. Property turned back over to the property owner.

Incident Activity July 9-15

Monday, July 9

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 100 block of E. Nebraska Avenue for a vehicle fire. This was a full-size pick-up truck with a fire in the bed of the truck with possible extension into the cab. After the fire was knocked down the owner of the truck stated he had just finished staining his hardwood floors. He had just put the rags and supplies in the bed of his truck and was planning to dispose of these on his way to work this morning. The determination was that the rags that were used for staining spontaneously combusted and caused the fire in the vehicle. Fire was unintentional in nature.

BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of Welch Avenue for a lift assist.

Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD responded to the intersection of Hwy 287 and Cty Road 8 for a 2-vehicle accident, with moderate damage to both vehicles. TVEMS assumed patient care and Engine 1 began hazard mitigation.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 100 block of Mountain Avenue for a cardiac arrest. Larimer Cty Sheriff and TVEMS also arrived on scene.

Citizen assist in the 900 block of Wilshire Drive for replacement of batteries in a smoke detector.

BFPD responded to the 100 block of Welch Avenue for a lift assist.

Tuesday, July 10

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 1000 block of 6th Street for a lift assist.

BFPD responded to the intersection of Hwy 287 and Yellowstone Road for a 2-vehicle accident. TVEMS assumed patient care and Colorado State Patrol arrived to investigate. Engine 1 cleared debris from road and blocked scene until tow trucks moved both vehicles.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a medical. Engine 1 assisted TVEMS with packaging and loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 800 block of Hwy 56 for a fall victim. A 70-year old woman had fallen in her garage. TVEMS arrived and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the Love’s gas station for a patient with heat stroke. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Wednesday, July 11

Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Friday, July 13

BFPD was dispatched to I-25 mm 250 NB for a single vehicle rollover accident. One person was on scene stating she was not the driver and was not injured. She stated that the driver had left on foot. This Information was relayed to Colorado State Patrol.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1000 block of Aspen Drive for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care, the crew assisted with loading of the patient for non-emergency transport.

BFPD responded to the 900 block of Wilfred Road for a person with heat exhaustion. TVEMS established an I.V., and packaged the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the intersection of 10E and 1st Street for a 2-vehicle accident with no injuries. The crew cleaned up debris and fluids on the ground.

Sunday, July 15

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a person with back pain. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded the 200 block of Welch Avenue upon a request by the Larimer Cty Sheriff’s office. The deputies had located an intoxicated male. TVEMS assumed patient care and the patient was transported by ambulance.

Truck 1 responded to 850 Spartan Avenue for a minor motor vehicle accident. The crew made contact with the Larimer Cty Sheriff’s deputy, who stated he just needed help with some debris clean up.

Berthoud Fire responded to I-25 mm 252 NB for a 2-vehicle and 1-semi accident. The crew determined that there were no injuries and Colorado State Patrol arrived and cleared Truck 1 from the scene.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Incident Activity July 16-22

Monday, July 16

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of Ranch for a 67-year-old man not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Tuesday, July 17

Berthoud Fire responded to the 300 block of Michigan Avenue for a 34-year-old woman having a seizure. TVEMS took over command.

Citizen assist in the 200 block of Sioux Drive for help with smoke detectors. Fire fighters replaced 6 old smoke detectors with new ones.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to West Cty Road 10E for a person with breathing problems. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Wednesday, July 18

Berthoud Engine 26 responded to a small grass fire in the 3000 block of Coyote Trail. The Engine 26 crew watered down the whole area.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a fall victim.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Thursday, July 19

Berthoud Fire assisted TVEMS with loading of a patient for transport in the 2000 block of Blue Mountain Avenue.

Assisted Loveland Fire with a grass fire located in the 10000 block of Forest View Drive. The crew assisted with final extinguishment and mop up operations.

Friday, July 20

Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 15000 block of N. 115th Street for a 79-year-old not feeling well. TVEMS arrived and the patient was loaded and transported.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 248 NB for a semi-truck cab that was fully involved. Mountain View Fire assisted with fire suppression. Once the fire was out, the scene was turned over to Colorado State Patrol.

Saturday, July 21

BFPD responded to the 200 block of 1st Street for a death. The crew met with Larimer Cty Sheriff before clearing the scene.

BFPD was dispatched to the 400 block of Larimer Cty Road 23E for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 400 block of W. Cty Road 10E for a grass fire threatening structures. Engine 16 located a 10×10 burn and extinguished the fire and informed the landowner to monitor it and apply water as needed. All units cleared and went available.

Sunday, July 22

BFPD responded to the 1600 block of Woodcock Street for a 19-year-old with back pain. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Incident Activity July 23-29

Monday, July 23

BFPD responded to the 600 block of 6th Street for a diabetic problem. The patient was located in the back- living room. Command was turned over to TVEMS.

BFPD was dispatched to the south end of Carter Lake for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.  

Squad 11 responded to the 400 block of Cheyenne Drive for a person with abdominal pains. TVEMS arrived and the patient was transported to a local hospital.

Tuesday, July 24

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 5000 block of Sedona Hills Drive for a cut gas line. The crew was met by Excel Energy at the end of the driveway. The gas line was properly clamped.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Skate Park for a patient with a traumatic injury to his right ankle. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Wednesday, July 25

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 600 block of W. Cty Road 4E for an 86-year-old woman who had fallen. TVEMS determined that she needed to be transported. The fire crew assisted with packaging of the patient.

Berthoud Fire responded to Hwy 56 for a single vehicle that had hit a cow. The vehicle’s occupant claimed to be not injured. Larimer Cty Sheriff’s deputies called a tow for the vehicle and notified the owner of the animal.

Thursday, July 26

BFPD responded to the 500 block of Capital Reef Court for a 65-year-old who had fallen in the street. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Friday, July 27

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to 1000 S. Cty Road 31 for a 46-year-old woman having a seizure. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Saturday, July 28

BFPD was dispatched to Berthoud Parkway for a 2- vehicle accident with injuries. TVEMS assumed patient care while Engine 2 assisted with hazards and fluid clean-up. Larimer Cty Sheriff continued the investigation. Command was terminated after clean- up.

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of Larimer Cty Road 31 for a low speed motorcycle crash. The motorcycle was off the side of Larimer Cty Road 31. The patient was loaded and transported to a local hospital. 

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1000 block of Aspen Drive for a bee sting. The patient had a history of allergic reactions to bee stings. The patient carries an epi pen which had been injected prior to BFPD’s arrival. Command was transferred to TVEMS.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Sunday, July 29

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of Larimer Cty Road 21 for a 57-year-old man with low blood sugar. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 2000 block of Larimer Cty Road 23 for a 79-year-old woman having chest pains. The crew was met at the door by the patient who was ready to go the hospital. TVEMS arrived and the patient was loaded and taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

BFPD responded to the 800 block of 5th Street for a 79-year-old man not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 1000 block of 4th Street for an 89-year-old woman not feeling well. Squad 11 assisted in loading the patient for transport to a local hospital.

Squad 11 responded to the 200 block of E. Michigan for a 22-year-old woman having an allergic reaction. Made contact with the patient and walked her to the ambulance for an evaluation. Patient was transported to a local hospital.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 21000 Weld Cty Road 7 for a 90-year-old having a stroke. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of S. 10th Street to Bein Park softball fields, A 41-year-old woman was running and had broken her ankle. Once the splint was applied, patient was loaded onto the pram and transported.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the intersection of 42nd Street SW and S. Lincoln Avenue for a 2-vehicle accident. Both vehicles had heavy damage. One person was loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Incident Activity July 30-August 5

Monday, July 30

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of Horseshoe Circle for an 84- year old male unconscious. When the crew arrived TVEMS advised them that the patient was deceased. Scene was then turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 1000 block of 1st Street for a single vehicle rollover. TVEMS assumed patient care, the fire crew assisted with loading of the patients for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to Larimer Cty Road 8 for a single vehicle accident, with light damage and all parties out of the vehicle. The crew worked on cleaning up fluids and traffic control.

Tuesday, July 31

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of Legacy Heights Drive for a cut gas line. After inspecting the hole the crew found tht the line was cut but no gas was flowing. Engine 1 remained on scene until Xcel Energy arrived. The Xcel technician explained that the gas was shut off by the excessive flow valve of the main line.

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Garfield for a 26-year old man having chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.
