Friday, June 1

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical emergency for breathing difficulty on 9th St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd St. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Horseshoe Circle.

Saturday, June 2

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance on Weld County Road 1.

BFPD responded with Berthoud Police to a medical call on 3rd St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Welch Ave. The patient was transported.

Sunday, June 3

BFPD responded to a request from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office for medical assistance on County Road 27E. The patient was checked and released to LCSO.

BFPD responded to a medical emergency on Willow Drive.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 2nd St.

Monday, June 4

BFPD responded to a medical assist at I-25.

BFPD responded to a call for downed power line at County Road 23. A tree branch had blown down and was resting on the wires. Dispatch called the power company for the homeowner.

BFPD responded to a medical call at I-25. TVEMS checked the patient and found no medical problems.

Tuesday, June 5

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a sick person in the 600 block of Mountain Ave. The Patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical on Wild Wing Dr. The individual was assessed and care was turned over to TVEMS. BFPD assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Thursday, June 7

BFPD was dispatched to a medical call on 8th Street. The call was canceled when the crew arrived at the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Franklin Street.

Friday, June 8

BFPD responded to a vehicle accident on I-25. The call was cancelled while the crew was en route.

Saturday, June 9

BFPD responded to a medical call on County Road 10. They assisted TVEMS with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Common Drive. No medical emergency was found.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident and assisted with moving the motorcycle off the road. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a vehicle accident on I-25. The call was canceled while the crew was en route to the scene.

BFPD responded with TVEMS and Loveland to a reported accident at mile marker 253 on I-25 southbound. This was a non-injury accident.

BFPD responded to Shoreside Drive for an open fire. The homeowner was advised of fire restrictions and where to find more information on the Internet regarding controlled burns. The homeowner put out the fire.

BFPD responded with TVEMS and Berthoud Police to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of First Street and Water Avenue. BFPD assisted TVEMs in loading the patient for transport and assisted with traffic control.

BFPD responded to Carter Lake with report of several campfires that were too large. All fires were found to be reasonable and a camp host was actively patrolling the area keeping an eye on the campfires.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical emergency on County Road 15. BFPD assisted TVEMs with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to a request for mutual aide to the High Park Fire west of Fort Collins.

BFPD responded to medical emergency on Marshall Place. BFPD assisted with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a resource order from the USFS to cover station 650 in Fort Collins.

Monday, June 11

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a patient needing medical assistance. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Tuesday, June 12

BFPD responded to a medical call for diabetic problems on Riverglen Way. The fire crew assisted TVEMS.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Lonetree Drive.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire that was threatening structures on Highway 287 and County Road 4. The extinguished the fire which had spread less than 200 feet from the roadway and had not come within more than 50 feet of the structures.

BFPD responded to a commercial structure fire at 990 2nd St. at 12:56 p.m. There was smoke coming from an east interior wall. Loveland Fire, Mountain View Fire, Longmont Fire and Johnstown Fire all assisted at the scene. The fire was controlled and the restoration company was notified for board up at 5:10 p.m. All units cleared the scene after the building was secured. Photos and article at Longmont Times-Call [2]

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Welch Ave. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, June 13

BFPD was dispatched to 990 2nd St. for a few hot spots in the attic area that were still smoking from the previous day. A larger hole was cut in the roof to access the areas that were smoldering and all hot spots were extinguished.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to the Berthoud Living Center. The crew assisted with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Sixth St. TVEMS monitored the patient care and the fire crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to an odor investigation reported on John Galt Drive. The crew did not find any odor in the area. The reporting party was mostly concerned with flames he could see on the mountainside. After thorough investigation in the area it was determined the large flames were from the High Park Fire.

Thursday, June 14

BFPD responded to a medical call on Bunyan Court for a person with a seizure. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient for transport.

Friday, June 15

Berthoud Water Rescue was called to respond with Loveland Fire to a report of a person struggling to stay above surface in the water at Carter Lake. Two Berthoud crew divers were involved as Larimer County Sheriff officers and the fire crew used the dive boat to rescue the person.

BFPD responded to an odor investigation in a residence on Welch Ave. The fire crew did not find any source of odor on the detector.

BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire in the area of Weld County Roads7 and 38. The crew was unable to locate anything in the reported location.

BFPD responded to an open fire in a residential back yard at Gregory and Wark Ave. The fire was extinguished.

BFPD responded to 7th St. for a citizen request for assistance.

Saturday, June 16

BFPD responded to Welch Ave for a person with breathing problems. TVEMS evaluated the patient and the fire crew assisted with helping the patient into the family car to be transported.

Sunday, June 17

BFPD assisted a citizen on North 4th St.

Monday, June 18

BFPD responded to a medical call for and individual with chest pain on Weld County Road 3. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient to be transported.

Tuesday, June 19

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on 1st St. The crew found a two-vehicle accident with one of the vehicle on its side. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient treatment, removing debris from the roadway and controlling traffic.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a structure fire on Redwood Circle. The homeowner reported a grill fire that was too close to the house. The fire had been extinguished but they wanted to confirm there were no areas of further concern. The crew removed a section of the siding and extinguished the inside walls that were charred and hot and wet down the burned insulation.

Thursday, June 21

BFPD responded to a reported roll over motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 across from Johnson’s Corner. The call was cancelled by the Colorado State Patrol before the crew’s arrival.

Friday, June 22

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire in the area of Wagon Trail Dr. The crew was unable to find any fires.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with breathing difficulties at the Berthoud Living Center. The crew assisted TVEMS with the assessment and with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for injuries on Franklin Ave. The crew helped with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to an investigation of reported smoke in the area of Carter Lake. The crew was unable to find any smoke in the area. It was determined to be smoke from the High Park Fire.

BFPD assisted a walk in patient at Station 1 who was complaining of chest pain. TVEMS responded and the crew assisted with patient care.

Saturday, June 23

BFPD responded to Estes Park as mutual aid for the structure/wildland fires. Upon arrival Berthoud crew was notified of a spot fire off Heinz Road that had become the fast moving head of the fire and was threatening three immediate structures. The crew was able to stop the spread before the structures were harmed. The crew was then asked to watch the northern part of the fire line overnight. The crew returned to service the next morning.

Sunday, June 24

BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The crew found a vehicle with both parties out of the vehicle, but there was no sign of fire. The owner was experiencing transmission problems.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire in the area of east 1st St. The fire crew checked the surrounding area but was unable to find any fire.

Monday, June 25

BFPD responded to a medical call on Doyle Dr. TVEMS administered patient care. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, June 26

BFPD responded to a report of a smoldering tree limb at the intersection of CR 13 and CR 4E.  No fire was found but power lines were down in front of a residence. Poudre Valley REA responded to repair the lines.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 10th St. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient to be transported.

Wednesday, June 27

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Weld County Road 5 and Highway 56. There was heavy damage to both vehicles.  The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped and was extricated. Both of the drivers were transported to the hospital.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 5th St. The patient was experiencing severe abdominal pain and was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. The fire was approximately 25’ by 100’ and had been extinguished by a citizen with a water tank on their trailer. The crew searched for and cleaned up any remaining hot spots.

BFPD responded to a report of a smoke column in the area of County Road 27E. After investigating the area it was determined that the clouds behind the hillside looked very similar to a large column of smoke.

Thursday, June 28

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Keep Circle. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of smoke in the area of County Road 8 and Highway 56. The crew did not find smoke in the area and decided it was possibly coming from the Boulder fires.

BFPD responded mutual aid to a structure fire in Mountain View Fire district. A barn was fully involved with fire and throwing embers into the nearby field starting grass fires. The crew assisted by supplying water and with overhaul for the structure, which completely collapsed because of a haystack fire inside.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 7th St. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded to a mutual aid with Loveland Fire for a dive rescue for two men who had overturned in the pond on South Railroad in Loveland. Berthoud’s dive boat was used to rescue and transport the patients. The crew assisted with loading the patients into the ambulance to be transported.

Friday, June 29

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.  The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Foothills Dr.

BFPD was contacted by Xcel Energy about a building on 2nd St. A previous fire had damaged the structure and now the roof being raised up during a windstorm, causing concern for the nearby power lines. The fire crew cut and removed the remaining pieces of the roof.

BFPD assisted a citizen who had fallen on 4th St.

BFPD responded to a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. There was minor damage and no injuries reported.

Saturday, June 30

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on County Road 17 and Lake Ave.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd St. for a patient having breathing difficulties.

BFPD responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. There was minor damage and no injuries reported.
