Saturday, June 1
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Meadowlark Dr. This was a controlled ditch burn but due to the wind the fire was getting out of control. The fire crew assisted with extinguishing the fire.
BFPD responded to a diesel fuel leak on East Indiana Ave. The crew stopped the leak in the truck and contacted the owner.
BFPD responded to a power line down on Lake Ave. A broken branch was resting on the service line but was not arching. Xcel was notified.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to Blue Mountain Ave. for a female who had fallen on a rock driveway and injured her head. The patient was transported.
Sunday, June 2
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. A single vehicle ran into the guardrail and had minor damage and no injuries reported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 10th St. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at Valley Dirt Riders track. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and transport.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a possible stroke patient at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The patient was evaluated and chose to drive himself to the hospital.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second St. The patient was transported.
Monday, June 3
BFPD and TVEMS responded to a lift assist. The crews assisted in lifting the patient then cleared the scene.
Tuesday, June 4
BFPD responded to fall in the 2000 block of Shoreside Dr. The male patient had fallen from a ladder. Patient was transported.
Thursday, June 6
BFPD responded with TVEMS to Berthoud Living Center for a sick person. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.
BFPD responded to a reported bicyclist down at the intersection of U.S. Highway 287 and Yellowstone Rd. BFPD assisted with patient care and took command to provide scene protection until was transported by TVEMS.
BFPD responded to the 2700 block of Martingale Dr. for a patient suffering from heat exhaustion. Patient was evaluated and transported.
BFPD responded to I-25 mile marker 249 for a vehicle accident, involving two vehicles with minor damage, no injuries or hazards were found; the incident was turned over to Johnstown PD.
BFPD responded to a CO alarm in the 7000 Block of Sedona Hills Dr. No elevated levels were detected. The CO Detectors were expired and the homeowner was informed of the need to replace the detectors. BFPD further assisted the homeowner by removing one detector that was too high for the homeowner to safely remove.
Saturday, June 8
BFPD responded to So. First Street for a reported rail car on fire. Berthoud PD and BNSF reported it was dust from the train. BFPD confirmed and cleared the scene.
BFPD responded to a report of a vehicle accident at mile marker 251 southbound I-25. CSP was on scene upon and BFPD continued to MM 252 to reports of a second accident.
BFPD responded to MM 252 and found a three-vehicle accident with moderate damage; all parties were out of the vehicles. Driver and passenger of the third vehicle were evaluated by TVEMS while BFPD worked traffic control.
BFPD responded to the 1800 block of So. U.S. Highway 287 for a trash fire. The crew found a male party extinguishing the fire. The homeowner informed the crew she was new to the area and was unaware that trash could not be burned until a neighbor came over to inform her. The friend extinguished the fire and she was given a copy of the open burning information packet.
BFPD responded to the 600 block of So. Ninth Street for a medical call. A male was complaining of pain in the lower quadrant of the abdomen, extending to the back. The man declined transport and was advised to seek medical attention.
Sunday, June 9
BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center and assisted TVEMS in transporting an elderly male.
BFPD responded to the 500 Block of So. Iowa Avenue for a report of an illegal fire in the back yard. The party was informed they could not have an uncontained fire. The party agreed to extinguish it. The crew remained at the residence until the fire was extinguished.
BFPD responded to W County Road 8E for a medical call for a disoriented female. Blood pressure and pulse were taken and information given to TVEMS. Patient was transported.
Monday, June 10
BFPD responded to a report of a wildland fire on the first ridge west of Hwy 287 and County Road 2e. The crew investigated the area but nothing was found.
BFPD assisted Berthoud Police with a call on Glen Drive for a possible injury to a person from a moving vehicle. There were no injuries to the patient.
Tuesday, June 11
BFPD was dispatched to a report of a gas pipe that had been hit by heavy equipment at a construction site on Hollyberry Street. The crew detected a strong odor of natural gas. The crew determined the entire block needed to be isolated and ordered all other equipment and workers in the area to cease operations until the leak was stopped. Xcel Energy arrived and worked quickly to clamp off the leak.
BFPD responded to a report of a sick person with heat stroke symptoms at the post office. However, the individual had no complaints and refused treatment.
BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Paramount Drive. Upon arrival there was nothing showing at the residence. The crew searched the structure and found no signs of smoke or fire. The homeowner was advised to call the alarm company and reset the alarm.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a report of a sick person on Callado Court. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a report of a sick person on Majestic Drive. The patient was transported.
Wednesday, June 12
BFPD responded to a report of an odor of natural gas on Second St. The crew searched the area and structure but found no signs or source of natural gas.
BFPD responded to a report of a grassfire near Interstate 25. The crew searched the area and was unable to locate a fire.
BFPD was dispatched to a report of an unattended bonfire at the Cardinal Campground located on County Road 31. The crew searched the area and nothing was found.
Thursday, June 13
BFPD responded to a report of a person who had fallen and was injured on Weld County Road 5. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical attention and the patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Apple Leaf assisted care. This was a false alarm.
Friday, June 14
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Weld County Road 5. The patient complaining of a headache was transported.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on West County Road 4. A person had fallen out of a moving vehicle and sustained injuries to the arm and upper back. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Sunbird Lane for a 10 year old who had fainted while riding her horse. The patient had no injuries and the mother chose to take the child to the hospital for further assessment.
BFPD responded to a grass fire on Yellowstone Road. This was a small wood slash/rubbish pile that was smoldering. The crew extinguished the hot spots and used a full tank of water for full extinguishment.
Saturday, June 15
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a patient who had fallen on Ninth St. The patient needed help back into a wheelchair.
Sunday, June 16
BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Bianca Court. There were no visible signs of smoke or fire at the residence. The fire crew advised the homeowner to replace all of their expired smoke detectors.
BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire that was threatening structures near County Road 4 and Highway 287. This was a permitted burn that was well contained and under control.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. This was a four-vehicle accident with no injuries reported. The fire crew checked for hazards and then controlled traffic.
BFPD responded to a dive rescue on South County Road 31. Two sailboats had collided and all parties were safely out of the water. One boat had sunk and was in the middle of the lake. Command determined that the boat was too deep to salvage by the fire departments.
BFPD was dispatched to a dive rescue at Lonetree for a kayaker who had flipped over and was still in the water. The crew prepared to launch the boat for rescue when the report came in that the party was out of the water.
BFPD responded to a structure fire in a single-family residence on E. Highway 56. The crew determined there was no fire inside the building; the fire had started on the exterior corner of the building. The fire was extinguished and the crew investigated for extension on the interior of the building. The Fire investigator arrived to investigate the source of ignition.
Monday, June 17
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. This was a single vehicle accident. The vehicle was found unoccupied. There was moderate damage to the vehicle.
BFPD responded to a grass fire near Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. The crew found an approximately 50×100 foot grass fire, slowly moving in light fuels. The fire was extinguished.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Franklin Ave.
Tuesday, June 18
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two cars at the intersection of Second Street and Welch Avenue. There were no reported injuries.
BFPD assisted a homeowner with a defective smoke detector on Wales Drive.
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on County Road 5. It was found to be a controlled agricultural burn.
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on County Road 17. The crew found the responsible party burning ditches in the area of County Road 17 and County Road 2E. The party was advised to extinguish the fire due to wind gusts up to 20 m.p.h.
Thursday, June 20
BFPD responded to a motorcycle/car accident on County Road 17 and County Road 8. A motorcyclist was injured and transported. The crew assisted with traffic control.
BFPD responded to a report of a controlled burn that was out of control on County Road 17. The crew found a legal, permitted burn that was well under control.
Friday, June 21
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and County Road 8. The crew arrived and found a single vehicle with mild damage off the roadway. One person was injured and transported.
BFPD responded to a medical call on Redwood Circle.
Saturday, June 22
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Iowa Street. The patient was transported.
Sunday, June 23
BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire in the center median of Highway 287. There was an approximately 6×6 foot grassfire that had been extinguished by the highway patrol. After confirming the fire was out, the crew cleared the scene.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.
Monday, June 24
BFPD responded to a medical call at the Public Library. BFPD initiated patient care; when TVEMS arrived, the crew turned the care of the patient over to them.
BFPD responded to a medical call on I-25 at MM 247. It was determined the call was in Mt. View Fire Protection District and BFPD was cancelled while enroute.
BFPD responded to a mutual aid call with Loveland Fire to a structure fire on Coral Burst Drive.
Tuesday, June 25
BFPD responded to a medical call in the5100 block of Sherman Dr. Patient care was released to TVEMS when they arrived. Berthoud Fire assisted TVEMS with loading the patient for transport.
BFPD responded to a grass fire on County Road 6C. A small grass fire, a ½ acre in size, was found on the hill next to the railroad track. The crew extinguished the fire.
BFPD responded to County Road 13 and Wilfred Road on a report of a fire. An agricultural ditch burn had involved 3 power poles. BFPD extinguished the fire and notified Poudre Valley REA of the three damaged poles.
BFPD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at 287 and Yellowstone Road. The call was cancelled while the crew was enroute.
BFPD responded to a medical call in the 1700 hundred block of Fourth Street. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.
BFPD dispatched to a residential structure fire on Paddy Lane. The call was cancelled enroute.
BFPD responded to a grass fire at MM 252 on I-25. Loveland Fire and BFPD both worked to extinguish the fire.
Wednesday, June 26
BFPD responded to a mutual aid request from Milliken Fire for a large grass fire. The fire crew assisted in the south division of the burn area.
BFPD assisted an elderly resident needing help getting inside their home.
Thursday, June 27
BFPD responded to a single car accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. There were no injured occupants.
BFPD responded to a medical request on Welch Ave. The crew assisted TVEMS with the transport of the patient.
Friday, June 28
BFPD responded to a medical emergency on Wilfred Drive for a patient with severe abdominal pain. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on County Road 23E for a child who was having a seizure.
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near the interstate at mile marker 253. The crew was unable to find a fire.
BFPD responded to a report of a wildland fire on Del Rio Road. A small area was burning at the base of a pine tree that appeared to have been struck by lightning.
BFPD responded to a small grass fire caused by a lightning strike near Lakota Ridge Road. This was a 10 x 10 foot area of light fuels and smoldering spots. The crew extinguished the fire and checked for any remaining hot spots.
BFPD responded to a dive rescue at Carter Lake. The crew was notified of a sailboat in distress at the north end of Carter Lake. The crew established command but was then notified by the county that the sailboat in question did not have an emergency. The dive crew then cleared the scene.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. An unoccupied vehicle was found in the center median.
BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm on Eighth Street and Mountain Ave. The alarm had been set off due to dry wall dust. Once the dust settled the alarm was reset.
Saturday, June 29
BFPD responded to a medical call for cardiac arrest on Michigan Ave.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 254. This was a three-car accident with moderate damage with no injuries reported.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on So. County Road 15. The patient was transported.
