Sunday, June 1
BFPD responded to a reported outside gas leak from a cut line on Martingale Drive. The homeowner had accidentally cut a line with a shovel. Xcel was notified and arrived to repair the line.
Monday, June 2
BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm in a residence on SW 49th St. The fire crew did not find any trace of CO on the detector. The alarm was faulty and the crew recommended replacing the unit.
Tuesday, June 3
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.
Thursday, June 5
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for an infant having seizures on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Weld County Road 7.
Friday, June 6
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. This was a three-vehicle accident with moderate damage to the vehicles. There were no injuries reported.
Saturday, June 7
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for abdominal pains on Franklin Ave. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a report of a bicyclist down on S. County Road 23. When they arrived the patient was being assessed by TVEMS.
BFPD and TVEMS assisted a person at the Berthoud Park who needed medical care. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a report of faulty smoke detectors on Gateway Lane. The fire crew assisted with replacing batteries in the high vaulted ceilings.
Monday, June 9
BFPD responded to a structure fire on Foothills Drive. The crew arrived to find a small single-story unattached four car garage with a small fire in a corner of the structure. The fire was quickly extinguished and the scene was left to the Fire Marshall for investigation.
BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for breathing difficulties on Sherman Drive. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded with Johnstown Fire Department to a grass fire on Weld County Road 44.
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Mountain and First Street. The fire crew was unable to locate a fire.
Tuesday, June 10
BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near structures. The crew found a haystack on fire. The crew extinguished the blaze by spreading the haystack over approximately 2-acres, then dousing with water and foam.
Thursday, June 12
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. This was a single vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries reported.
BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at Wilshire Circle and Meadowlark Drive. A single motorcyclist was found conscious but not alert. The patient was transported emergent.
Friday, June 13
BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with seizures at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The crew assisted TVEMS with the patient care.
BFPD responded to a report of an inside gas odor on Wales Drive. The crew was unable to detect any source of odor in the home.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for hip pain on Cottonwood Lane. The patient was transported.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.
Saturday, June 14
BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Greenwood Drive. The patient was transported.
BFPD assisted the Weld County Sheriff’s Office with a medical call for the driver of a vehicle found in the field near Weld County Road 7 and Highway 56.
Monday, June 16
BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. There were no reported injuries.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a patient who had fallen on Wilshire Drive. The patient hit his head and was complaining of head pain. The patient was not transported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Fourth St.
BFPD responded to an outside gas leak in the area of 437 Meadowlark Drive. The leak was found in a field across the street. An Excel Energy crew arrived and stopped the leak. The fire crew then cleared the scene.
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Charro Ave.
BFPD responded to reported grass fires in the median and on the west shoulder of Interstate 25 near mile marker 247. Mountain View fire assisted Berthoud Fire in extinguishing and cleaning up the fires. A vehicle with mechanical problems that had pulled into the median causing sparks that caused the fire.
Tuesday, June 17
BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire on Water Ave. The crew found a pile of wood debris smoldering in a ditch on the east side of the railroad tracks on the south side of Water Ave. This was from a ditch burn conducted earlier in the day. The crew extinguished the fire then cleared the scene.
Wednesday, June 18
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Beverly Drive. The patient had fallen down a set of stairs. The patient was not transported.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. A female had sustained a large laceration on her foot. The patient was transported.
Thursday, June 19
BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm on Fifth Street and Spartan Avenue. This was a false alarm due to a faulty system.
BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for chest pain on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a medical call on Longview Drive for a patient who had fainted. When TVEMS the patient care was transferred to them.
Friday, June 20
BFPD assisted Berthoud Police with a medical call on Tenth Street.
BFPD assisted a woman at Station 1 on Mountain Avenue who was having an allergic reaction. The fire crew assisted with the medical care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a medical call with TVEMS at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a reported fire in a neighborhood on Cheyenne Drive. The fire crew found a fire in the area that was a campfire in an approved fire pit.
Saturday, June 21
BFPD responded to an odor investigation in a single story residence on W. County Road 2E. The homeowner was concerned about an odor that smelled like propane. The fire crew investigated and using the air monitors didn’t find any concerns inside the residence. The source was found to be in the garage. Two bottles of a fungal spray for plants had been leaking causing the odor.
Monday, June 23
BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm in the 700 block of Welch Ave. No visible sign of smoke was observed and upon completing an interior search the alarms were reset and the house was turned back over to the resident.
BFPD responded to a call in the 500 block of Second St. for a fire alarm. The alarm was deemed to be defective.
BFPD responded to a reported dumpster fire in the 3000 block of Landmark Drive. The fire crew found a medium size construction dumpster with an active fire. No structures were threatened. The fire crew extinguished the fire.
Tuesday, June 24
BFPD responded to a medical request from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office for a resident on Larimer County Road 15.
BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at Berthoud High School. Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was conducting training and the alarm was set off unintentionally. BFPD assisted the school custodian with resetting the alarm system and advised them to notify the alarm company regarding the training at the school for the remainder of the day.
BFPD responded to a medical call for a fall in the 500 Block of South Eighth St. BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care. Patient was transported and the fire crew cleared the scene.
BFPD responded to a medical call in the 2000 block of S. County Road 15. It had been reported that a 12-year-old, was choking, unconscious and breathing abnormally. When the crew arrived the patient was talking and breathing normally but was still blue in color. TVEMS transported the patient.
Wednesday, June 25
BFPD responded to a CO alarm in the basement of a residence in the 2000 block of Elmwood St. The crew used the air monitor to check the house and no levels of CO were found. Batteries were replaced in the CO detector, which solved the problem.
Thursday, June 26
BFPD responded to single vehicle accident and began patient care. When TVEMS arrived, care was turned over and the patient was transported.
Friday, June 27
BFPD responded to a vehicle fire near a structure in the 100 block of Sprague Lane. The crew found a fully involved single passenger vehicle fire next to a house. The fire was extinguished and the residence checked for extension of the fire into the home. No extension was found other than heat damage to the siding. Upon ensuring the fire was extinguished the crew cleared the scene.
Saturday, June 28
BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call in the 5000 block of Lonetree Dr. BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care. Patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a grass fire at MM 251 on I-25. The callout was cancelled en-route.
BFPD responded to a medical call at MM 248 on I-25. TVEMS evaluated the patient, the patient refused transportation. Upon completion of all paperwork BFPD cleared the scene.
BFPD was called to an inside odor Investigation in the 400 Block of Mountain Ave. The crew detected an odor of natural gas inside the kitchen area. Xcel was called to respond and determined the problem to be the stove. The pilot light was not staying lit the owner was advised to turn it off every night. It was deemed safe to return and continue operating.
BFPD responded to a vehicular accident on I-25. Three cars were involved in a multible rear end collision. Two BFPD Firefighters assisted TVEMS with patient care of a pregnant female while others completed a check on the remaining vehicles. The mother of the pregnant female was also evaluated and a second ambulance called. The two women were transported.
BFPD responded to a dive rescue at Lone Tree Reservoir. The crew found all parties out of the water, but the vehicle, boat and trailer were fully submerged. BFPD Dive Team did a search for belongs and connected the tow hooks for the towing company. The vehicle was recovered without incident and the Dive Team turned the belongings and personal affects recovered over to the law enforcement.
BFPD responded to an accident with injuries at I-25. BFPD found a vehicle accident with minor damage and one motorcyclist down in the roadway. The patient was evaluated and transported. BFPD cleaned up a small fluid spill and turned the scene over to the CSP.
BFPD responded to a medical call in the 700 block of Seventh St. A 62-year-old male was found on the floor in his kitchen, conscious and alert. BFPD began treatment, upon arrival of TVEMS patient care was turned over. Patient was transported.
Sunday, June 29
BFPD responded to Lone Tree Reservoir to the report of a fire at the restroom facilities at the fishing area. No evidence of fire was found.
BFPD responded to a medical call in the 2000 block of Alpine Sky Dr. TVEMS was first on scene and in patient contact. Patient was deceased. When the Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, BFPD returned to station.
BFPD was dispatched to a vehicular accident with injuries. No accident was found.
BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with breathing problems in the 800 block of 10th St. Patient care was started by the fire crew and in turn turned over to TVEMS when they arrived. The patient was transported.
Monday, June 30
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 287. A white cargo van was found on its top just off the shoulder of the southbound lanes. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was injured and transported.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Weld County Road 44 and the frontage road of Interstate 25. This was a two-vehicle accident with minor damage to both vehicles. One patient was injured.
