Berthoud Fire Calls: June 2021

Tuesday, June 1

Squad 61 dispatched to the 900 block of 4th Street for chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport to local hospital.

Engine 62 responded to the 400 block of Bothun Road for back pain. The patient was evaluated, walked to the cot, and loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Squad 61 responded to 400 block of Meadowlark Drive for a law enforcement medical assist. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient assessment. The patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported.

Engine 62 dispatched to the 6300 block of Jordan Drive for an 82-year-old woman who was unconscious. The patient was breathing with periods of consciousness. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS. Once the patient began to improve, TVEMS cleared Engine 62 from the scene.

Engine 61 dispatched to the 600 block of Mountain Avenue for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient into the ambulance for transport.

Wednesday, June 2

Squad 61 responded to the 1300 block of 4th Street for a 75-year-old woman who was not feeling well. The patient was evaluated, and TVEMS cleared Squad 61 from the scene.

Engine 61 dispatched to the 200 block of Mountain Avenue for a medical. The crew began patient assessment and transferred care to TVEMS. The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport to a local hospital.

Engine 61 dispatched to the 300 block of Turner Avenue for a 31-year-old man with chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was walked to the cot and loaded for transport to a local hospital.

Squad 61 responded to the 2100 block of Charro Avenue for a lift assist to an 87-year-old woman.

Thursday, June 3

Engine 61 dispatched to the intersection of N Berthoud Parkway and Highway 287 for a multiple motor vehicle accident. The crew assessed the vehicles and hazards. LCSO shut the intersection down for an investigation of the scene. The crew assisted by stopping fluid hazards and with traffic control.

Engine 61 dispatched to N Berthoud Parkway and Highway 287 for a law enforcement assist to clean up fluids from the motor vehicle accident that had occurred earlier. The crew put down absorbent on the fuel and oil spill and assisted the tow truck with debris clean up.

Engine 61 dispatched to I-25 mm249 NB for a motor vehicle accident. TVEMS assumed patient care of the single vehicle accident. One patient was transported by ambulance. The crew assisted CSP with traffic control and clean up.

Friday, June 4

Engine 61 dispatched to the 2200 block of Clayton Place for a dumpster fire. The dumpster was connected to the business’s waste compacter on fire. The crews worked to extinguish the fire. Once extinguished the origin of fire was investigated, and the scene turned back over to the business owner.

BFPD dispatched to a wildland fire in the area of the 200 block of N County Road 23. An unattended burn pile in a field was found. The 20’x30’ burn pile was extinguished. The crew attempted to contact the property owner, but no one was located on the property.

Saturday, June 5

Squad 61 dispatched to the area of S 3rd Street and Colorado Avenue for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was loaded for transport.

Squad 61 dispatched to the 22000 block of Weld County Road 5 for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient onto the cot and into the ambulance for transport.

Squad 61 responded to the 3600 block of Nations Way for a 48-year-old man who had fallen from his tractor. The patient was inside his home. The crew completed patient assessment and transferred care to TVEMS. The patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported to a local hospital.

Squad 61 responded to the 1300 block of 4th Street for breathing problems. The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Engine 62 dispatched to the 900 block of N County Road 31 for a medical assist. TVEMS arrived on the scene and took over patient care. The crew assisted with packaging and loading the patient for transport.

Squad 62 dispatched to the 500 block of E County Road 8 for a motor vehicle accident. A single vehicle that had hit a tree. All occupants were out of the vehicle and were assessed for injuries. All patients refused medical care. The crew assisted with traffic control until cleared by LCSO.

Sunday, June 6

Squad 62 dispatched to the 7400 block of W County Road 4 for a medical. The crew began evaluating the patient and transferred care to TVEMS upon their arrival. The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Squad 61 dispatched to the 3300 block of Fairways Drive for a medical. The patient was examined and loaded into the ambulance for transport.

June 7-13

Monday, June 7

Engine 61 responded to I-25 mm 250 for a 2-vehicle accident with light damage to both vehicles. All parties were out of the vehicles with no injuries. The crew put absorbent on a radiator fluid leak and checked all vehicles for hazards.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 400 block of East Cty Road 8 for an 85-year-old woman who had fainted. TVEMS arrived and assume patient care. The patient was transported to a local hospital.

Berthoud fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for an alarm system issue.

Tuesday, June 8

Engine 61 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for commercial fire alarm malfunctioning. The alarm was put in maintenance mode to be repaired by the maintenance crew.

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 200 block of Leanne Drive for a 47-year-old male having a seizure. TVEMS arrived on scene and took over command. The patient was loaded and transported to a local hospital.

Engine 62 responded to the N. 83rd and Yellowstone intersection for a bicycle rider that was hit with a mirror. Patient had a deep laceration on the left forearm and pain in the left shoulder and ribs. The crew assisted in walking patient out of the ditch and onto the cot for transport.

Engine 62 responded by to the 15000 block of N. 107th Street at the request of Boulder Cty Animal Control. The crew assisted with getting a camel back to its feet. Once the camel was over its legs it was able to stand up on its own, and the owners were comfortable with E62 clearing.

Squad 61 responded to the 17000 block of Weld Cty Road 5 for a 59-year-old female having stomach pains. TVEMS had patient care at which time the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Wednesday, June 9

Squad 61 assisted TVEMS with loading an intoxicated male in the 400 block of Mountain Avenue.  

Thursday, June 10

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 700 block of Sage Place for a 60-year-old female who fainted. The patient was loaded for transport to a local hospital.

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 1000 block of Eagle Drive for a 25-year-old female having an allergic reaction. TVEMS requested assistance in loading of the patient for transport.

Friday, June 11

Engine 62 responded to the 2000 block of W County Road 6 for a person who had fallen.  TVEMS handled patient care.  The crew assisted with loading the patient into the ambulance for transport.

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 1900 block of Chaparro Circle for a medical.  The patient was evaluated and loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Engine 61 was dispatched to the 900 block of 4th Street for a medical assist.  TVEMS assumed patient care.  Patient was assisted to the cot and loaded for transport to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Saturday, June 12

BFPD was dispatched to Carter Lake for a law enforcement assist.  The crew assisted Larimer County Park Rangers and deputies from the Sheriff’s Officers.  Once completed, BFPD cleared the scene.

Citizen assist at Station 1 for a car seat installation.

Citizen assist to the 1600 block of Hollyberry Street for a smoke and CO detector check.  The crew blew all detectors out with compressed air and found no malfunctions. 

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 1900 block of Chaparro Circle for chest pains.  The crew assisted TVEMS with patient assessment.  The patient was assisted to a cot and loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Sunday, June 13

Engine 61 was dispatched to the 1500 block of Mount Meeker Avenue for an unconscious patient.  The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.  The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport to a local hospital.

Tuesday, June 15

Squad 61, along with TVEMS, responded to the 1000 block of Woodcock Street for a 22-year-old male having chest pains.

Berthoud Fire dispatched to the 1000 block of 4th Street for a 75-year-old woman with breathing problems. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of N. Hwy 287 for a single vehicle rollover. The vehicle had moderate damage to roof and front end. No vehicle hazards were present. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport. Squad 61 controlled traffic for LCSO.

Wednesday, June 16

Squad 61 responded to the 700 block of 4th Street for a sick person. Patient continued to feel sick and weak throughout the evaluation and decided to be transported to a local hospital.

Squad 61 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a lift assist.

Thursday, June 17

Berthoud Fire responded to Love’s Travel Stop for a man having stomach pains and could not walk. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Squad 61 dispatched to the 2000 block of S. Cty Road 13 for a 98-year-old woman who fell and needed a lift assist. No injuries were reported, and the woman was not transported.

Squad 61 responded to the 700 block of Sage Place for a lift assist.

Engine 61 responded to the intersection of Hwy 287 and Larimer Cty Road 8 for a 2-vehicle accident with injuries. One patient was evaluated and transported by TVEMS to a local hospital. The car was loaded on to the tow truck, and LCSO cleared Engine 61 from the scene.

Berthoud Fire dispatched to the 900 block of Wilshire Drive for a fall victim. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Friday, June 18

Citizens assist for a car seat installation at Station 1.

Squad 61 dispatched to the 1300 block of S Highway 287 for a heat related illness. TVEMS assumed patient care. Patient was evaluated and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Squad 61 dispatched to the 400 block of Mountain Avenue for chest pains. The crew began patient assessment and transferred care to TVEMS. The patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported to a local hospital.

Saturday, June 19

Squad 61 dispatched to the area of S Highway 287 and Whitewater Court for a law enforcement request for medical. The patient was assessed and loaded into the ambulance for transport to a local hospital.

Engine 62 dispatched to the area of 1700 Wales Drive for a cardiac arrest. The crew began patient evaluation and transferred care to TVEMS. Engine 62 remained on scene until cleared by LCSO.

BFPD dispatched to I-25 SB mm250 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. They found a single motorcycle down with several bystanders around. The crew began patient assessment and transferred care to TVEMS. The patient was placed on a cot and loaded into the ambulance for transport. The crew utilized a plug and dike to stop a fuel leak on the motorcycle fuel tank. The scene was turned over to CSP.

Engine 61 responded to the 1700 block of County Road 15C for an animal locked in a vehicle. The crew utilized the EZ tool to unlock the vehicle. The dog was released, and Engine 61 cleared.

Sunday, June 20

Engine 62 dispatched to the 1200 block of N County Road 31 for a motorcycle accident. The motorcycle was off the roadway, 10-feet downhill. Both patients were conscious and alert with minor complaints. TVEMS arrived on scene and assumed patient care. Both patients were transported to a local hospital. The crew assisted with traffic control until cleared by CSP.

Squad 61 dispatched to the area of W County Road 8 and N Highway 287 for a law enforcement medical assist. TVEMS arrived on scene and cleared Squad 61.

June 21 – 30

Monday, June 21

Berthoud Squad 61 responded to the 100 block of Willow Circle Drive for a sick person. TVEMS had patient contact. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Battalion Chief 61 was dispatched to the 3000 block of S. County Road 29 for a large animal rescue. They found a horse upside down in a ditch. When the Veterinarian arrived, the horse was sedated, and the rescue was performed. The horse was revived from sedation, and the Vet checked the health of the horse.

Citizen assist for a smoke detector malfunctioning in the 200 block of 3rd Street. The crew replaced the battery and then tested the detector. Detector functioned properly, and Squad 61 went back in service and available.

Squad 61 responded to the 1000 block of W Cty Road 14 for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was loaded with the help of the crew and taken to a local hospital.

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 500 block of Windom Peak Lane for a 71-year-old male not feeling well. TVEMS handled patient care. The crew retrieved the cot and assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Wednesday, June 23

Squad 61 responded to the 4000 block of Karen Court for a 33-year-old male having seizures. The patient was moved onto the cot and loaded into the ambulance for transport to a local hospital.

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 500 block of Windom Peak Lane for a 71-year-old male that had fallen. The crew acquired vitals and got him onto the cot and loaded for transport.

Engine 61 responded to the 500 block of 9th Street for a CO alarm. The crew entered the house with the CGI and immediately found CO levels of 25ppm. Once down in the basement found levels more than 60ppm. The only gas appliances in the home were the hot water heater and furnace. Out of caution, the crew secured the hot water heater and advised the homeowner to contact a HVAC professional to investigate the venting of the hot water heater. The house was ventilated to 0ppm on all 3 levels. The home was turned back over to the homeowner with the hot water heater secured, and Engine 61 cleared the scene.

Thursday, June 24

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 9000 block of Four- Wheel Drive for a fall victim with a possible broken wrist. The crew retrieved the cot from the ambulance, and the patient was loaded and taken to a local hospital.

Engine 61 was toned out to assist TVEMS with loading of a patient in the 900 block of S. Del Norte Ct.

Friday, June 25

Squad 61 responded non-emergency to the 2000 block of Cooperland Blvd. for a detector malfunction. Crew investigated the situation confirming that multiple units had a malfunction. All the batteries in the detectors were replaced and tested to ensure proper function.

Squad 61 responded to the 1600 block of Glacier Avenue for a medical assist. TVEMS and the crew evaluated the patient. The medical was resolved on scene, and Squad 61 cleared.

Saturday, June 26

Engine 62 was dispatched to the 3000 block of Tia Court for severe abdominal pain. The crew assessed the patient and transferred care to TVEMS. The patient was loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Squad 61 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Sunday, June 27

Squad 61 was dispatched to the 200 block of 3rd Street for a medical assist. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient assessment. The patient refused transport. TVEMS cleared Squad 61 from scene.

Citizen assist to the 100 block of Redcloud Avenue for smoke detectors chirping. The crew replaced the batteries and tested to ensure proper functioning.

Engine 61 was dispatched to the Love’s Travel Stop for a female with abdominal pain. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient walked to the ambulance and was transported.

Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Engine 61 was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Cty Road 13 for a small camper on fire. The crew extinguished the fire. The scene was turned back over to the homeowner, and all units cleared.

Tuesday, June 29

Squad 61 responded to the Berthoud Living Center to assist with the loading of a patient for transport.

Engine 62 was dispatched to the 500 block of Nesting Eagle Drive for a fall victim. Upon arrival found a 50-year-old female that had fainted. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport to a local hospital.

Wednesday, June 30

Squad 61 assisted TVEMS with a lift assist in the 300 block of Bimson Avenue.

Engine 61 responded to the 100 block of S. 8th Street for a female that was riding an electric scooter and lost control and went under a vehicle. The crew assisted with loading of the patient into the ambulance for transport.
