Incident activity for November 2012

 

Monday, November 5

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at Mile marker 252. A single vehicle had hit the guardrail. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a reported dumpster fire near a structure on Fifth Street. The fire crew found what appeared to be smoke coming from a vent in a church building. The building was investigated and the source was steam coming from a humidifier on the furnace.

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on County Road 17. The fire crew checked the residence with the gas monitor and nothing was found. The crew replaced the batteries in the unit and cleared the scene.

Tuesday, November 6

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. This was a single vehicle having mechanical problems.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Second Street An individual had fallen and needed assistance. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Wednesday, November 7

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Second Street for a patient who had fallen.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Eighth Street. There were no injuries reported.

Thursday, November 8

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a vehicle that had hit a tractor with a plow behind it on County Road 13. The driver was assessed for injuries by TVEMS and refused transport. The crew cleaned the area of spilled oil and returned to service.

BFPD responded to a medical call for injuries at Berthoud High School.  The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care for a male patient with an injured elbow.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Glen Drive.

Friday, November 9

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287. An automobile had hit the abutment supporting the bridge for County Road 10E and sustained significant damage. There were two fatalities as a result of the accident.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Sherman Dr. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and transporting the patient.

Saturday, November 10

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for seizures on Eighth Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to an alarm fire on Highway 287. This was a false alarm.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287. One vehicle was 30 ft off the roadway in the ditch, apparently the victim of slick roads.  There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Douglas Place. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. A single vehicle had slid into the median. There was minor damage and no injuries were reported.

Sunday, November 11

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Navajo Place. The crew did not find any signs of carbon monoxide and determined the battery needed to be replaced.

BFPD responded to a medical request on Iowa Ave. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

Monday, November 12

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. This was a two-vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to an odor investigation on Victoria St. The fire crew searched the residence but did not find a source of odor.

BFPD responded to a residence on Fifth St. to investigate an odor that appeared when the furnace turned on. The fire crew did not find any elevated levels on the air monitor.

Tuesday, November 13

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The call was cancelled enroute.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Getaway Dr. for a patient in cardiac arrest. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and helped transport the patient.

Thursday, November 15

BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care for a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center and the crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Saturday, November 17

BFPD responded to a medical call on Victoria St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Fourth Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Sunday, November 18

BFPD responded to a medical call on Cottonwood Lane. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

Monday, November 19

BFPD responded to a medical call on Fourth St. for a patient having breathing problems. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and with transporting the patient.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Live Oak Court. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, November 20

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. This was a four-vehicle accident with moderate to minor damage to the vehicles. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 247. The accident was a minor accident with no injuries. As the crew was returning to the station, they came upon a fully involved vehicle fire on the side of the road. The crew extinguished the fire. There were no injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.

Wednesday, November 21

BFPD responded to a medical call on Second St. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Mayo Court.

Thursday, November 22

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. There was minor damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Weld County Road 7. One patient was injured and transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on N. 107th St.

BFPD responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on Weld County Road 46. There was moderate damage to the vehicle and there were no injuries reported.

Friday, November 23

BFPD responded to a report of an injured worker at a gas-drilling site near Interstate 25. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The crew was unable to locate an accident and the call was cancelled.

Saturday, November 24

BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a wildland fire near dam two at Carter Lake [2]. Larimer County, Poudre Fire Authority, and Windsor Fire also responded to the scene. This was a fast moving wind driven fire moving rapidly to the southeast. Two Berthoud fire engines were stationed at the northern flank of the fire near structures. The fire was extinguished and the fire crew patrolled the fire area throughout the night and following day.

Sunday, November 25

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at the Valley Dirt Rider race course [3]. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and helped transport the injured patient.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Sandia Lane for a person having respiratory distress after a fall. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, November 28

BFPD responded to a medical call on Thundering Peak Drive. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Meining Road. The patient was experiencing severe abdominal pains and was transported.

Thursday, November 29

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a commercial fire alarm. This was a false alarm.

BFPD responded to a medical call on County Road 4. The patient was transported.

Friday, November 30

BFPD responded to a reported medical call on Second Street. The patient was deceased. TVEMS and Berthoud Police assumed command and the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to Weld County Road 46 for a person who had fallen and needed lift assistance.
