Incident Activity – September 2016

Thursday, September 1

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of Fairways Drive for a female that had fallen on the patio. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for transport.

A 91-year-old male had fallen off the curb in front of Station 1. The crew found the patient laying on his side with lacerations to his forehead and right arm. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 500 block of Mayo Court for a 93-year-old female having chest pains. TVEMS took over patient care. The patient was transported.

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 42nd Street for a welfare check. The crew found a female who was in bed deceased. The scene was turned over to Larimer County Sheriff and TVEMS.

Friday, September 2

BFPD responded with TVEMS at the request of Larimer County Parks Rangers for a female who had crashed her bicycle near LCR 31. The crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded at the request of LCSO to a reported bicyclist down near Hwy 287 and Horseshoe Circle. The crew found a male with no injuries or emergency. The crew provided some food and water to the man before leaving.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to Fawn Trail for a patient having neck pain. The crew assisted with packaging the patient to be transported.

Saturday, September 3

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on Hwy 287 and Yellowstone Road. There were no injuries reported. Upon arrival of CSP the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Monday, September 5

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to I-25 mm 248 SB for a medical assistance with Colorado State Patrol. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to the 700 block of Wilfred Road for a lift assist.

BFPD was dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Street for an adult male who needed medical attention. TVEMS assumed patient care. Engine 1 assisted TVEMS with packaging of patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 1100 block of Cty Road 21 for an 88 year old female who had fallen. Engine 2 assisted TVEMS with loading the patient in the ambulance for transport.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to a Larimer Cty Sheriff request for medical attention for a woman who had suffered a stroke a few days prior. BFPD was dispatched to the 1500 block of Willow Drive. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Tuesday, September 6

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 252 NB for a grass fire. Engine 6 arrived and was assigned to the north end of fire, while Engine 13 was assigned to the south end. The crews extinguished the fire.

Berthoud Fire and TVEMS responded to 4th Street and Mountain Avenue for a 3-car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival found two unoccupied vehicles with moderate damage to the driver’s side. The third vehicle, which had caused the accident was pulled over with minor damage and the driver stating that he was not injured. The scene was turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.

Wednesday, September 7

BFPD and TVEMS were called to 2nd Street by Larimer Cty Sheriff for a person they had picked up on warrants and was complaining of needing medical attention. There were no obvious life threats and vitals were normal, Larimer Cty Sheriff transported the patient..

Thursday, September 8

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Branding Iron Way for a male who had fallen outside. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on 1st Street. Engine 16 and Engine 13 found a ½ acre grassfire located in a field along the roadway east of the intersection of 1st Street and S. Highway 287. The fire was quickly controlled and mop-up operations were initiated.

Friday, September 9

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to a single car motor vehicle accident on 4th street. Two occupants were still in the vehicle which had heavy front-end damage. Due to patient access reports from TVEMS, the incident was upgraded to an extrication response. Once both patients were out and hazard mitigation was complete, Engine 2 was released by command. Engine 1 remained on scene to assist Larimer Cty Sheriff with lighting and traffic control.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 4000 block of Malibu Drive for a 71-year-old male who had fallen. The crew assisted with packaging the patient to be transported.

Berthoud Engine 2 was dispatched to a large animal rescue on N. Cty Road 27E. A horse had gotten its rear leg stuck in the cattle guard. The horse had been given a sedative by its owner and was laying down. The crew used a sawzall to cut the pipe on the cattle guard, to free the horse’s leg. The owner and the crew helped roll the horse over away from the cattle guard. The owner said the horse would be ok, all units cleared scene.

Saturday, September 10

BFPD responded to Larimer Cty Road 8E for a medical call. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to I-25 mm 250 NB for a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. Both were in the median with moderate damage. TVEMS confirmed that the accident was non-injury, Engine 1 terminated the incident and was redeployed to a motor vehicle accident at mm 251 SB.

Berthoud Engine 1 was deployed to I-25 mm 251 SB for a non-injury motor vehicle accident. On arrival Colorado State Patrol cleared Engine 1, the incident was terminated.

BFPD responded to Weld Cty Road 1 for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Sunday, September 11

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Mayo Court for a 93-year-old female having chest pains. The crew assisted with packaging the patient to be transported.

BFPD responded to the 100 block of Sioux Drive for a male who had a cardiac arrest and was deceased. TVEMS along with Larimer Cty Sheriff arrived to gather information from the deceased’s wife.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Larimer Cty Road 23 for a bicycle accident. A female rider had clipped the biker in front of her and then went down. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Monday, September 26

Berthoud Fire responded to the 17000 Weld Cty Rd 5 for a medical. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to Weld Cty Rd 36 for a female who had fallen. Engine 1 assisted TVEMS with packaging and loading the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to a grass fire located in the area of N. 115th Street. Engine 16 found a ¼ acre fire, in light flashy fuels, with moderate rate of spread. Units mopped up the fire and laid down a wet line around the perimeter.

Wednesday, September 28

BFPD responded to the 3500 block of Taft Avenue for a residential structure fire. The crew found a single story duplex with light smoke showing from the attic. After staging, Engine 1 was assigned to pull a second line as a back-up line. Once the fire was declared under control, Engine 1 was released.

Berthoud Fire responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD responded to the 1100 block of Navajo Place, regarding a concern over a CO detector that would not stop chirping. The crew found to be most likely that the CO detector was malfunctioning due to age. The homeowner was advised to purchase new CO detectors for both the main floor and basement.

Thursday, September 29

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to I-25 mm 251 SB for a two-car motor vehicle accident with minor damage. All occupants were out of the vehicles with no injuries.

BFPD responded to the 4900 block of Malibu Drive for a medical assist. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Friday, September 30

Engine 1 responded to Hwy 56 and SE Frontage Road for a motor vehicle accident. Chief 1 requested Colorado State Patrol and Engine 1 for hazards and to direct traffic. Tow trucks moved the vehicles out of the intersection.

BFPD was dispatched to the 800 block of Wagonbend Road for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care. The fire crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Saturday, October 1

Berthoud Engine 1 responded with TVEMS to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a sick person. The crew assisted TVEMS with packaging the female for transport.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a report of a dog bite on 7th Street. The victim was located at the Octoberfest event. The crew secured the animal and assessed the patient who refused transport or additional attention. Engine 1 returned to the standby at the park.

Berthoud Fire responded to a control burn that was now out of control on 83rd Street. The fire crew found a 10x10x5 compost pile smoldering. The homeowner stated he did not have a tractor that worked. Engine 13 tried to spread the compost pile out, while extinguishing any hot spots.

Sunday, October 2

Berthoud Fire responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to the 5000 block of Iowa for a medical. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Larimer Cty Sheriff Department requested BFPD to respond to the 5000 block of Iowa Street for a medical. TVEMS assessed the 2 people in custody.

Berthoud Engine was dispatched to the Derby Grill for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care.
