Berthoud Library to Offer Family Legacy Workshop

By Laurie Hindman
Berthoud Recorder

Every family shares a history and sometimes poignant, sometimes humorous stories that are passed from generation to generation. Capturing that history and lore can be a rewarding project that creates a legacy for future generations, but how to begin?

The Berthoud Community Library District is offering a Family Legacy Workshops on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The workshop will focus on important elements of writing and description to create a family history or autobiography.
The presenter, author Linda Weaver Clarke, travels around the country teaching writing skills and helping to make interesting stories out of family history.

On her Web site, Clarke says, “The importance of family legacy can never be over emphasized….each of us has a story from our ancestors or even our very own story to tell. If these stories are unwritten, then how are your children going to know of their ancestry, of their parentage, or even family traditions of the past? It’s up to us to write these experiences down.”

For more information about the workshop, call the library at (970) 532-2757.
