School Board member Dennis Brietbarth passes away

I received the following press release from Thompson School District this morning. I am deeply saddened by the loss. Dennis and I served together on the McKee Foundation board and we always visited at the meetings and at the Board of Education meetings. He was dedicated to public service and his passing is a great loss to the community and to me personally. Hepatitis at Grand Lake Restaurants

Grand County Public Health announced that a case of hepatitis A in a food worker employed at two Grand Lake, Colorado restaurants, Sagebrush BBQ & Grill and Max & T’s Bar and Grill, has been confirmed. Both restaurants have had very good records of inspections in the past and both are cooperating in the investigation. There are no other confirmed cases of hepatitis A at this time. Town Administrator Hart talks water

By Judy Lehn Wednesday’s Citizen First forum on Berthoud water drew about 50 residents who wanted to hear what Town Administrator Michael Hart had to say. The subjects covered ranged from the annual foul smelling and tasting water, to the “exorbitant” water bills paid by town citizens. Thursday, July 1 Dog days at the Police Department. In the early morning, 2 a.m., the Loveland Report Herald driver brought in a Jack Russell Terrier. Water bubbling up in a field at SE Second Street and East Colorado Avenue was cause enough for a concerned citizen to report it to authorities. Police turned the matter over to the water department. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for July  2010 Friday, July 2 BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Bruce Drive. A small fire in a homeowner’s back yard was extinguished. BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire on Interstate 25 southbound lanes @ mile marker 253. County Commissioners to Ask the Public about Medical

Larimer County, Colorado – The Board of Larimer County Commissioners (BCC) will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 23 at 6:30pm  to allow for public comment on whether a decision to ban or regulate businesses that sell medical marijuana should be made by the BCC or put to a public vote. The hearing will take place in the Hearing Room, 1st floor, at the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building, 200 West Oak Street, Fort Collins.
