BFPD Responds to Commercial Fire

Berthoud Fire Protection District responded to a commercial fire alarm at 8:51 a.m. at Rocky Mountain Sustainable Enterprises, a business specializing in converting vegetable oil into fuel for vehicles. There were two employees present at the time of the fire; they sustained no injuries. Rimsky-Woods Engagement

Paul and Teresa Rimsky of Berthoud announce the engagement of their son, Brett William Joseph Rimsky, to Bailey Ann Woods. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dan and Janet Tahir, of Parker. She graduated from Chaparral High School in Parker in 2004; and from the University of Wyoming in May 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Fire Beat: Feb. 5, 2009

Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire located on Weld County Road 7 and E. Highway 56.  Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 BFPD responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The fire was extinguished before reaching the passenger compartment. There were no injuries. Sunday, Jan. 18 Another case of hit and run was reported in the 1300 block of N. Fourth St. It appears the suspect vehicle struck the driver’s side rear fender of a 1998 Toyota Camry while backing of the adjacent parking space and left the scene without leaving any identifying information. Monday, Jan.19 A resident of the 800 block of Bruce Ave. reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his Cobra radar detector which was in plain sight on the dash. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Jan 19-25 Monday, Jan.19, 2009 BFPD responded to a grass/wildland fire west of U.S. Hwy 287 and north of County Road 6.  This was a 10- to 12-acre fire that was quickly contained due to the efforts of Berthoud, Longmont, Hygiene and Mountain View fire departments.
