2011 Ivy Stockwell Jog-A-Thon fund-raiser

A Jogger-Riffic Time By Thomas N. Ivy Stockwell Elementary School will be holding its annual fund-raiser and this year it will be the schools first jog-a-thon, to take place April 18-20. This event will raise funds for the school including activities such as reading programs, subscriptions for learning through technology, and summer science camps. From Larimer County Emergency Informatin The following information update has been made for: Crystal Fire Well hallelujah and better late than never: we have finally gotten some real moisture and more than just enough to make the dirt roads slightly muddy. In Fort Collins we generally have (as of around 2:30 p.m.) from between 2/3 of an inch to over one inch of water from rain and slushy snow. “B” Sweet Cupcakes opening in Loveland

Dana Brungardt is holding a grand opening for her "B" Sweet Cupcakes on Saturday, April 16. The new kitchen and outlet are at 425 E. 4th Street in Loveland. It is just across the street from Anthology Book Store. The hours for the grand opening are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will be cupcakes for sampling and for sale. Ad in drawings for door prizes and you have the combination for a pleasant noon hour.

Greetings folks. Not a great deal to relate but some things of interest. First of all, people near the fire may continue to see smoke for sometime as the mop up process continues. That may be especially true today since we may undertake a burn out operation to secure some parts of the fire line - that is, taking away burnable fuel in a controlled manner which might otherwise might give us a problem. Berthoud High School Play Premiers Thursday Night   By Thomas N.   The Berthoud High School drama department will premiere a production of The Wonderful Wizard of OZ on Thursday April 14. The play is an adaptation the book by L. Frank Baum and looks to be a good time with many experienced actors. Crystal Fire 100% Contained April 11, 2011   The Crystal Fire is now 100% contained and is considered at full suppression with perimeter control.  This applies to both the main area of the fire as well as the area in Redstone Canyon.  Units continued to mop up today while others patrolled the fire and continued work on the fire line.  Crews will continue mop up operations tomorrow, continuing suppression repair and reinforcement of control lines. Crystal Fire: April 10 (Update 7 p.m.)

7 p.m.: Larimer County Emergency Information The 2,940-acre fire is now 95% contained. Today, crews made good progress on line construction on the west end of the fire and mopping up hot spots along the perimeter. High winds caused some flare ups of unburned fuels in the interior of the fire so increased smoke was visible in places.
