Tuesday, February 1 A vehicle ran into a fence in the 400 Block of East County Road 8. No injuries were reported. An injured cat was returned to its owner in the 600 block of Sunnywood Place. A 1980 Pontiac was reported stolen from the 200 block of Welch Avenue. A resident in the 200 block of Second Street saw footprints in the snow and reported having a prowler. According to an employee, agents of the Colorado Department of Revenue entered the Loveland Schmidt's Olde Time Bakery this morning and locked the doors and then asked the customers to leave. Employees were give time to put food back into freezers and coolers and then they too had to leave. Apparently, the deal struck last year to allow the popular restaurant to reopen had fallen through. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Summary, February 2011 Tuesday, February 1 BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance on West County Road 6. The homeowner reported an electronic flue control devise had malfunctioned and was burning. The crew located the valve for the gas supply and turned it off, extinguishing the fire. Marie Elise Andrade Allison was selected as Berthoud High School’s recipient of Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award for 2011. The Namaqua Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) presented awards to several area students at its February 9 Student Recognition Tea.
