Odyssey of the Mind for Second Grade
Berthoud Elementary School fielded two teams in Saturdays Odyssey of the Mind Long’s Peak Tournament at Berthoud High School. Odyssey is an international educational program that provides creative problem solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. The Thompson Education Foundation (TEF) honored teachers and staff at their annual Education Appreciation Breakfast, held this year in Berthoud at the Brookside Gardens Event Center. Edward Riley Dennis was born June 22, 1964 to Richard and Shirley Dennis. Edward was raised in the Mini-Casa area in Idaho. He graduated from Minidoka High School and had many friends and family in the area. Eddie was involved in wrestling; he loved to hunt and fish and loved his family. Ed was a Nomadic free spirit. March 11 update: I-70 rock slide
CDOT press release UPDATE: 3:10 PM, MARCH 11, 2010 CDOT crews have opened I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in both directions. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction and will remain like this until long-term repairs can be completed in the coming weeks/months. The speed limit has been reduced to 40 MPH and load over 14-feet wide are restricted from traveling through the work area. Broomfield and Longmont both won their brackets on Wednesday evening. Broomfield had an easy time with Conifer, winning 59-32. Meanwhile, in a low scoring game, the Longmont girls defeated Cheyenne Mountain by 9 points, 49-40. They will play the finals on Friday. With Longmont still in the final four for tonight's boys semifinals, Longmont could have two champion basketball teams.

Citizens First introduces the candidates
Dorian Ryan opened the Citizens First meeting on Saturday announcing a bad news-good news message; she said that that only three candidates had filed for the three vacancies on the town board. The good news was that all were at the meeting. She introduced incumbent Dick Shepard who explained why he decided to seek another term on the board.
