By Judy Lehn In spite of uncooperative weather, the first annual Berthoud Art in the Garden was a huge success on Saturday, June 26.  The artists arriving at the set up time of 1:30 p.m. were greeted by gusty winds, drizzling rain and then a final downpour before the sun came out at the historic Waggener Farm on Mountain Avenue. Berthoud on the verge of real estate boom? According to a recent article in the Norther Colorado Business Report and a corresponding interview on KUNC radio that is the case. Fran Robison returned to the McCarty-Fickle House on Thursday to put the Ladies of Loveland in their summer attire. She had most of the ladies dressed by the time the guests arrived in the evening, but had saved three of the dolls for the program. She began with Albina Washburn. Fatal accident east of Berthoud

Update June 4. The investigating officers of the Colorado State Patrol have concluded that the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane in front of the empty cement truck. The driver of the pickup was Travis McPherson, 20, of Loveland. The driver of the cement truck was Edward Brown, 59, of Johnstown. Brown suffered a broken rib in the accident.
