Doll Collection now dressed for summer
Fran Robison returned to the McCarty-Fickle House on Thursday to put the Ladies of Loveland in their summer attire. She had most of the ladies dressed by the time the guests arrived in the evening, but had saved three of the dolls for the program. She began with Albina Washburn. She explained that even though the ladies wore different “visiting dresses” during the summer, they still wore the same type of undergarments. Albina is dressed for the 1865 period. Berthoud Day a big success: 5K results
It was a beautiful day and everything seemed to go off smoothly. From the pancake breakfast to the evening shows, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Fatal accident east of Berthoud
Update June 4. The investigating officers of the Colorado State Patrol have concluded that the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane in front of the empty cement truck. The driver of the pickup was Travis McPherson, 20, of Loveland. The driver of the cement truck was Edward Brown, 59, of Johnstown. Brown suffered a broken rib in the accident. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for May Monday, May 3 BFPD had a medical Assist on Michigan Avenue. Patient was transported. Tuesday, May 4 BFPD responded to a power line down/arcing, nothing was found on arrival. Wednesday, May 5 BFPD was cancelled en route to a MVA on the interstate. RV fire endangers house in Blue Mountain
Shortly after 5 p.m. on May 31, Berthoud fire responded to 4529 West County Road 4 where they found a motor home with the front engulfed in flames. The motor home was parked in the vicinity of the log home but the crew from Station #2 managed to keep the fire contained. However, It was not until another unit arrived from Station #1 to assist that fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames. Flags and Flowers commemorate Memorial Day at
The annual observance of Memorial Day was marked by the Berthoud Lions Club putting up a row of flags at Greenlawn Cemetery. The flag raising has been a Lions’ tradition for more years than the volunteers can recall. Inside the cemetery, the graves of veterans had already been marked with small individual flags. Initially called “Decoration Day,” this day commemorates U.S. Soldiers who died while in military service. The day was originally enacted to ... Full Story

Berthoud High School Graduation 2010
There was a chill in the air and the wind was blowing a bit, but the Berthoud High School graduation ceremony was blessed with a bright sunny day, matched the attitude of the graduates and their families. The graduates make their walk from the school building to the stadium. New this year was the addition of teachers in the procession.
