The staff of J. B. Clymer’s restaurant served its last meal at the corner of Fourth Street and Mountain Avenue on Valentine’s Day. In the wake of last month’s threat of imminent seizure of the building to satisfy unpaid state sales taxes, Sharon Dowling and Shari Nixon determined that it was time to move. There is a new fitness center in town. It is located at the west end of what is commonly referred to as the Hays Market shopping center. This center joins two other Snap Fitness centers in the area, one in Firestone, and the other in Fort Collins. The new operation is owned by Milo Carley, who operates the Fort Collins club. February 19, 1942 – January 21, 2010 Doug Nichols, Ph. D., paleontologist and Berthoud resident, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2010, at the age of 67. Born in Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth C. and Beatrice O. Nichols. Doug lived in Long Island, N.Y. and New Jersey while growing up.
