The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment announces that there are still appointments available for its final H1N1 (“Swine Flu”) vaccination clinic on Sunday, Jan. 10. The clinic will run from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Fossil Ridge High School, 5400 Ziegler Road, Fort Collins. Vaccinations through this clinic are free. Nearly a dozen Larimer County residents have indicated a desire to fill the vacant position on the Larimer County Board of Commissioners. All are Republicans and Kathay Rennels’ successor will be chosen by the Larimer County Republican Central Committee. The committee has 320 members and the winning candidate must receive a simple majority of the votes. Members of the Young Lawyers Division of the Larimer County Bar Association will answer telephone calls from the public concerning legal issues from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. This service is provided free of charge to the public. Win half a beef The Berthoud Wrestling Club is raffling off half a beef. All proceeds will go to the club to use for the kids. The tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. Larimer County, Colorado - Linda C. Hoffmann will take the lead as Larimer County’s new Planning Division Director January 1, 2010. Hoffmann has served as the County’s Rural Land Use Center (RLUC) Director since June 2008. Flooding from leaking pipes closed the Larimer County Justice Center, 201 LaPorte Ave., Fort Collins, on Wednesday. According to Michael Kirk, Larimer County facilities director, a pipe froze and broke a fitting, causing the system to activate and release water on the first floor Wednesday morning. A service vendor is onsite and cleanup is under way. Officials are targeting a Thursday reopening of the building.
