Grandpa’s Cafe to donate to Project
Thursday, June 13, from noon to 9 p.m., Grandpa's Cafe will donate 25% of proceeds to Project Self-Sufficiency. Project Sel-Sufficiency helps low-income single parents become self-sufficient. Change of Seasons, Change of Clothes
The style of historical Colorado women comes alive for the "Change of Seasons, Change of Clothes" doll exhibition at the McCarty-Fickel house on June 10 at 7 p. m. As the seasons change, so did the elaborate outfits of Colorado's notable ladies. Petticoats, hats, and exquisitely intricate dresses were part of the daily costume of women from all walks of life in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and the local ladies kept up with the looks of the time. Berthoud Day a big success: 5K results
It was a beautiful day and everything seemed to go off smoothly. From the pancake breakfast to the evening shows, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Fatal accident east of Berthoud
Update June 4. The investigating officers of the Colorado State Patrol have concluded that the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane in front of the empty cement truck. The driver of the pickup was Travis McPherson, 20, of Loveland. The driver of the cement truck was Edward Brown, 59, of Johnstown. Brown suffered a broken rib in the accident. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for May Monday, May 3 BFPD had a medical Assist on Michigan Avenue. Patient was transported. Tuesday, May 4 BFPD responded to a power line down/arcing, nothing was found on arrival. Wednesday, May 5 BFPD was cancelled en route to a MVA on the interstate. RV fire endangers house in Blue Mountain
Shortly after 5 p.m. on May 31, Berthoud fire responded to 4529 West County Road 4 where they found a motor home with the front engulfed in flames. The motor home was parked in the vicinity of the log home but the crew from Station #2 managed to keep the fire contained. However, It was not until another unit arrived from Station #1 to assist that fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames. Flags and Flowers commemorate Memorial Day at
Lions Club members Sam MacDonald, John Bona, Curtis Wilson, Mike Waldo and Jon Erickson placed 14 flags at Greenlawn Cemetery early on Monday morning. The annual observance of Memorial Day was marked by the Berthoud Lions Club putting up a row of flags at Greenlawn Cemetery. The flag raising has been a Lions’ tradition for more years than the volunteers can recall. Inside the cemetery, the graves of veterans had already been marked with small individual flags.
