Ron Paul hates democracy
Ron Paul's Farewell Speech in Congress Lays Bare His Hatred for "Pure Democracy," and Love of Oligarchy Paul believes in liberty... for businessmen. November 28, 2012 | By Robert Parry Rep. Ron Paul, an icon to the libertarian Right and to some on the anti-war Left, gave a farewell address to Congress that expressed his neo-Confederate interpretation of the Constitution and his anti-historical view of the supposedly good old days of laissez-faire capitalism. Sympathy for the rich
Pity the poor plutocrats. By Gene Lyons What with Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign having come to an ignominious end, new champions have been called forth lest mobs of pitchfork-waving grandmas and torch-bearing old men rendered fearless by Dentu-Grip breach the walls of their elegant suburban redoubts. One such hero is Lloyd Blankfein, the universally revered CEO of Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs. At least that’s how anchorman Scott Pelley ... Full Story
Petraeus: The hero that never was
From the photos you would think General David Petraeus was a genuine hero. The left side of his jacket is filled with ribbons that make him look like a true warrior. Looks can be deceiving, only one of those ribbons is attached to a medal for action, the Bronze Star (with V device) and there is some question about how he earned that, See: "Petraeus Allegedly Earned A Bronze Star For Combat Valor 'Without Firing his Rifle'". The others are service ribbons or medals awarded for good staff work ... Full Story

Collapse of the Petraeus facade
As pointed out last week in this publication, General David Petraeus' reputation appears to be built upon a foundation of public relations sand, a foundation that is quickly becoming quicksand. More and more publications and reporters are now beginning to take a hard look at the General and what they have written about him in the past. It appears that his greatness has been a media creation, one that he directed and fostered. My observations in the above mentioned article are based on my ... Full Story
Impeachment?
Impeach the President Over the Recent U.S. Deaths in Middle-East! By Martin Lewis This is a monstrous scandal. The biggest since Watergate. Brave Americans murdered this fall in the Middle-East and our so-called president has no answers about why it happened! Of course the fact that it happened as the president was obviously focused on running for a second term couldn't have had anything to do with it! And the White House has admitted that the news of the deadly ... Full Story
Bradley Manning: an American hero?
Bradley Manning deserves Americans' support for military whistleblowing Thanks to WikiLeaks, US citizens are better informed about wars prosecuted in their name. We owe Manning honour, not jail time Last week, PFC Bradley Manning offered to accept responsibility for releasing classified documents as an act of conscience – not as charged by the US military. As people who have worked for decades against the increased militarization ... Full Story
The real Petraeus scandal
By Gary Wamsley Colonel, USAF Retired Much is being made about the spectacular fall from grace of one of our nations most respected military icons. The real scandal is not that David Petraeus had feet of clay, but that he managed to convince the country, up to and including the President of the United States that he was a man of vision, integrity and ability. I really had not paid much attention to General Petraeus, generally feeling that the confidence placed in him must ... Full Story
