Berthoud 11 and under baseball takes silver in league tournament

The Berthoud 11 and under baseball team finished their regular season strong by beating the Lafayette Warriors (12-9) on the Warriors home turf. The Lafayette team had only lost three games all season. Coach Dave Overholt said, “We carried that momentum into the year end league tournament going 1 and 1 the first day.  That win against the Sliders required scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win 15-14. Bugs Take Game 2 in Another 4-3 Win

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles fell again to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, by an identical 4-3 score, in Game 2 of the Northern Conference Semifinals. The two teams continued to prove that they're evenly matched as it was the fifth time in the past six playoff games between the two teams with that exact final score, and the 10th of 11 all-time decided by just one goal. CHSAA 4A State Basketball Tournament Brackets

The Berthoud Spartans (seeded #8) host  #9 Pueblo County on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. The winner of that game faces the Sierra Stallions in Colorado Springs on Friday, Feb 26. The Stallions own a 21-2 record and are the #1 seed in the bracket. The #6 Lady Spartans will host  #11 Prairie View on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play the Pueblo East Eagles in Conifer. Basketball playoffs at Berthoud

This note form Athletic Director, Mark Avery "As it looks right now, I believe that both the BHS boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting a game on Thursday, February 11th in the first round of the Northern Conference Basketball Tournament.  It is conceivable that we will also play one or more games on Saturday as well, but I have not run all of the scenarios yet.  Game times will be 5:30pm for girls and 7:00pm for boys.
