  LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles overcame an early goal against to stop Rapid City's 13-game win streak and Danny Battochio's personal nine-game win streak with a convincing 6-2 triumph. The win brought Colorado within a point of the Rush for the top spot in the Turner Conference, with the Eagles owning a game in hand. Berthoud Girls Basketball Tops Brush By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer Thanks to a 13-6 regular season and fourth place finish in the 3A Patriot League, the Berthoud High girls basketball team enjoyed a bye in the opening round of the district tournament. There was no rust for the Lady Spartans however as they topped the Brush Beetdiggers in a thrilling 47-44 victory in the BHS gym on Tuesday evening. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles topped the Mississippi RiverKings 5-1 at the Budweiser Events Center. Andrej Hebar and Riley Nelson each scored a pair of goals in a dominating performance for the Eagles who kept pace with the Rapid City Rush in the battle for first place in the Turner Conference. LOVELAND, Colo. - The  Colorado Eagles registered a season high 50 shots in their 4-3 overtime win against the Arizona Sundogs, but it was the defensive corps that was the real story for the home team. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Missouri Mavericks scored three goals in the third period to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 7-4, capping off a three-games-in-as-many nights series between the teams that had a fitting playoff feel.
