LOVELAND, Colo. - The  Colorado Eagles registered a season high 50 shots in their 4-3 overtime win against the Arizona Sundogs, but it was the defensive corps that was the real story for the home team. Forced to play with just five d-men for most of the game (after Joe Grimaldi received a game misconduct penalty in the first period), Colorado's final two scores came off the sticks of defensemen. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Missouri Mavericks scored three goals in the third period to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 7-4, capping off a three-games-in-as-many nights series between the teams that had a fitting playoff feel. After each team had won one of the previous two games in overtime, Simon Watson helped lead the Mavs to the "rubber-match" win with a pair of goals. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles defeated the Missouri Mavericks, 3-2, in overtime at the Budweiser Events Center one night after the Mavs topped the Eagles in overtime in their own home. Fort Collins, CO – The Colorado Ice begin their 5th IFL season with the opening of training camp today, Friday, February 11, 2011. Spartans end losing streak with 22-point win By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud High boys basketball team stomped the Estes Park Bobcats 69-47 Friday evening in the Berthoud High gym. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and improved the Spartans record to 6-9 on the season and 4-3 in the 3A Patriot League. Junior guard Zach Ruebesam was the star of the game for Berthoud.
