Spartans dominate at Soeby Classic
By Gary Wamsley The Soeby Classic was a showcase for the Berthoud Wrestlers on Saturday. The host team won four duals on their way to the team title. The Spartans bested Mitchell HS (64-15), The Academy (72-6), Widefield HS (55-15) and Greeley Central (45-22). In the 112 pound class, Alex Kingsley ranked at 12 this week won three matches loosing only to 11th ranked Gabe Padilla of the Academy. Eagles Jump Up in Standings With Shootout Win Over
LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles defeated the Odessa Jackalopes, 3-2, in a shootout after losing a one-goal game to the Jacks a night before. In the tightly-packed Turner Conference, the win moved the Eagles from fifth place into third and just two points out of first. Spartans Sink Ten 3-pointers in 64-45 win By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer Friday night in the Berthoud High School gym the Berthoud boys basketball team won their third game of the season with a 64-45 victory over Lyons. The Spartans sank ten three pointers and went 16/16 from the free-throw line to notch their first victory against a 3A Patriot League opponent. Eagles Not So Special in 4-3 Loss to Odessa
LOVELAND, Colo. - The Odessa Jackalopes defeated the Colorado Eagles, 4-3, in the first game of a weekend set at the Budweiser Events Center. The win was just Odessa's second all-time in Loveland -- after picking up their first in their last visit -- and their first victory in regulation.
