Lady Spartans win again
The Spartan softball team defeated Skyline 11-1 at Skyline this evening. Morgan Thonhoff pitched five innings giving up 3 hits and walking 2 as Berthoud pounded out 12 hits. As in last game, the Spartans started the contest with 4 runs in the opening inning. The Falcons lone score came in the third inning. Lady Spartans hammer Roosevelt 10-0
August 31 The Lady Spartans wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with 4 runs in the first inning. That would have been enough to win the game, but the Berthoud girls added two more runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings while holding Roosevelt to only six hits, including one triple.

Going for the Gold
By P.J. DiPentino Aug 7, 2010 Three local BMX riders competed in the Rocky Mountain State Games last weekend in Colorado Springs. All three come home from the three-day event with medals. Nine-year-old Phillip DiPentino, known locally as the Flying Meatball, took top honors in his age group with gold, silver and bronze medals. Josh Schumacher advances to state finals
By Gail Schumacher Josh Schumacher competed in the Rockies Baseball Skills Challenge in Berthoud on June 9. He won first place in his age division of 10 and 11-year-old boys. This gave him the chance to go onto the Sectional Final in Longmont on July 11. He won first place in that event and will be competing in the State Final on August 14 at Coca-Cola All Star Park in Lakewood. Berthoud Team wins 3 v 3 LIVE Soccer Tournament
By Kathy Loberg The Berthoud Team, AVATAR, took first place in the U14/15 girls division in the 3-v 3 LIVE soccer tournament held on Saturday, July 10 at the Fort Collins Soccer Complex. AVATAR team members are Cherokee Walker, Lindsey Loberg, Megan Loberg, Erin Briggs, Chloe Murray and Sam Alexander.
