Like the boys team, the Berthoud girls basketball team did not make much headway against the highly ranked Lady Trojans. The Spartans were held to single digit scoring in each of the first three quarters.

Anyone expecting a repeat of the game against Sterling came away disappointed this evening. If 85th ranked Berthoud could beat eighth ranked Sterling, there was certainly hope they could come out on top of number 14 Longmont. Spartan Girls lose to Thompson Valley

The Spartan Girls Varsity Basketball team took the floor after watching the JV team win 38-31 over their Thompson Valley rivals. The Varsity squads had similar records and similar rankings. This should have been a close game. It wasn’t. TV controlled the tip-off and scored first. The visitors ran up 5 more points while holding Berthoud scoreless for the first five minutes of the quarter. Berthoud Wrestling Club brings home 10 trophies

Sixteen wrestlers from the Berthoud Wrestling Club made their way to Greeley on Saturday to compete in the Metro Jr. Wrestling League Championship. The event, held at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion on the UNC campus drew wrestlers from all over Northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. The league has 34 participating clubs and over 1,500 wrestlers age 4 to 14. The Berthoud Wrestling Club has been operating for more than a decade and has nearly 50 boys involved in the sport. The ... Berthoud Wrestlers have a busy week

By Denise Schump This week was a busy week for the Spartan Wrestling team with the last home duel meet of the season against Fort Morgan’s Mustangs on Thursday and a road trip to Security/ Widefield for the annual Gladiator Duels meet in Colorado Springs on Saturday. The Spartans came up on top against the Mustangs with a score of 41 to 34. Berthoud boys win over Sterling in overtime

Sterling overcame a 7-point deficit in the first half to force the Spartans into overtime, but Berthoud prevailed in the overtime when Greg Hutchins sank a 3 pointer with less than 3 seconds remaining on the clock. This was a great win for the Spartans over a previously undefeated team that was ranked eighth in the state and second in standing in the league.
