Obituary: Anton (Tony) Tysdal

Anton (Tony) Tysdal, 93, of Berthoud died early Thursday morning at Windsor Healthcare Center. Tony was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Linn Grove, Iowa to Ole and Marie Tysdal. He served in the Navy during World War II as a gunner’s mate and was at Pearl Harbor shortly after it was attacked by the Japanese. He married Marjorie Kell on March 23, 1944 in Hampton, Iowa. Cheryl Ann Scott, 55, of Fort Lupton peacefully passed away on May 20, in her home. She was born on April 7, 1954, in Chicago to Richard and Beverly Bacus. A native of New Jersey, Meade move to Hobe Sound, Fla., from Toms River, where she lived with her second husband, F. Marie Hutmacher of Berthoud and Taylor Anthony Portillo of Broomfield were married in a private vow ceremony at Bottom Bay Beach in Barbados April 7. Tony Rodriguez, 51, of Berthoud passed away at McKee Medical Center on May 17.  He was born Jan. 22, 1958, in San Barbara, Mexico to Roman and Micaela (Castro) Rodriguez. Evelyn “Evee” Pfenning, 83, of Loveland, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 6, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Born in rural Mead on Sept. 15, 1925, to Emanuel E. and Katherine Mary (Sterkel) Zoller, Pfenning attended the rural Red Rock School and then in 1934, the family moved east of Berthoud in Weld County, where she attended Sunny Side School through the eighth grade. Sam Withrow, 68 years young, passed away April 27 at his home in Berthoud. He is survived by his wife Christine, his only child Hope Withrow, and beloved siblings Bud, Paul, Rose, Dick, and Ruth. A celebration of Withrow’s life with family and friends will be held May 30 in Fullerton, Calif. A U.S. Navy burial ceremony will be conducted in San Diego at a later date.
