Obituary: Thomas Wesley Dean

Thomas "Dude" Wesley Dean, 86, was born June 30, 1923, and died Sept. 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ruth Dean, three children; Carol Fleeger and husband Wally of Berthoud; Daniel Dean and wife Denise of W. Richland, W. Va., and Lori Victoria and husband Stanley of Kingwood, Texas. He has seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wedding: Early Evening Wedding for Bunker, Resibeck

Derek and Amber (nee Bunker) Reisbeck were wed in a double-ring ceremony April 30, 2009 at the Tapestry House in LaPorte, Colo., among family and friends. For the early evening ceremony, the bride wore a strapless ball gown with beaded bodice and “whipped topping” skirt. She carried a uniquely sentimental bouquet of long-stemmed calla lilies draped over her arm. Fern C. Patton of Berthoud, formerly of Elliott, Iowa, died Aug. 22 at the age of 92 at Berthoud Living Center. She will be greatly missed. Patton was born Nov. 1, 1916 at home in Braddyville, Iowa to Ed and Blanche Eberly. She was married to Ed Patton on Feb. 20, 1935; he preceded her in death in September 1966. Virginia Lee Shannon, a longtime Loveland resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Neb. She was 86. Mrs. Shannon was born Dec. 2, 1922 in Loveland, the daughter of Earl Wyatt and Della Thankful Armstrong. She was the youngest of five daughters. Kent S. Fry passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at Berthoud Living Center. He was 85. He was born on Oct. 23, 1923, in Roundhead, Ohio, to Ivan and Ruth Fry. Kent proudly served his country in the U. S. Army, 3rd Infantry, in World War II. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 1275 in Lima, Ohio. Lloyd Carl Conder passed peacefully with his family on Aug. 8 at the Life Care Center of Longmont. He was 83. Born on Aug. 11, 1925, to Carl and Opal Conder, he was a life long resident of Berthoud. Conder is survived by his sister Darlene (Bob) Botos of Loveland; daughter Glenda Conder of Louisville, and son Allen Conder of Casper, Wyo.; granddaughter Alisha (Michael) Conder, and great-grandson Tyler of Denver and several nieces and nephew. Obituary: Earl D. Sterkel

Earl D. Sterkel of Berthoud went to join the Lord on Tuesday, July 28 at Longmont United Hospital following complication after open-heart surgery. Sterkel was born in Loveland to Jacob and Christina Hohnstien Sterkel on March 8, 1940. He attended Loveland Schools and graduated with the class of 1958 from Loveland High School.
