Mark your calendars for Christmas in Berthoud. This year it will be on Saturday, Dec. 8, with events scheduled throughout the day. In addition to food, fun, shopping and entertainment, the Berthoud Chamber and representatives from the business community, churches and other non-profits, are hoping to make this year’s festivities an opportunity for Berthoud area residents to reach out to those in need. A Christmas in Berthoud Fund has been established at the Home State Bank; the committee has a goal of raising $15,000 for local families with financial difficulties.
One of the many fun events is the “Make and Take” craft workshop at Berthoud Elementary from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For a minimal charge children can make a gift for a family member. All proceeds will be given to needy children through the Christmas in Berthoud Fund at Home State Bank. Each craft is provided by volunteers from the community.
The following groups will be offering crafts:
Turner Middle School Student Council—Pretzel Making ($1)
Presbyterian Church—Stamping Crafts ($1-3)
Girl Scout Troop 487—Painted Christmas Ornament Balls ($2)
Girl Scout Troop 151—Cookie Mixes ($3)
Girl Scout Troop 800—Hair Beading ($1)
Boy Scout Troop 7—Cookie Decorating and Fresh Popcorn ($1)
Ukrainian Orphan Outreach—Ukraine Egg Ornaments ($1)
