Citizens First 2010 Organizational meeting

Citizens First is holding an organizational meeting at the Jumping Bean Coffee Shop and Restaurant this evening, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and learn about Citizens First.

Restate Citizens First mission and areas of Interest

Define the differences between Citizens First and Berthoud Town Forum

Importance of attending Town meetings

Announce Board vacancies

2009 Accomplishments

1)   Creation of based on attending Town meetings and Berthoud Town Forum

2)   First meeting in August introducing Town committee’s encouraged public participation. Introduced Areas of Interest.

3)   AIMs Community College Tax public forum

4)   Charity Causes-Alex Sabados  Christmas in Berthoud-

5)   Business support CIB and Jingle Mingle

Forming of Teams to work on the following Citizen First Goals for 2010

Membership committee- Build membership data base, set dues

Meeting Scheduler-Make sure that all Town meetings are covered by CF members

Ballot Initiatives- Possibilities BERT Residency requirement and Excel Poudre franchise tax to be voted on by citizens. Identify the process create petition and ballot language

Auditor- Monitor Town budget and checks written to businesses-Mark

Fund raising- Create and implement fund raising-Dorian

Berthoud Days- Create Citizens First float

Public Forums- Identify forum topics, pick speakers, set meeting agenda

Publicity-Publicize CF meetings and forums, create newsletter determine delivery method and frequency

Finances- Set a 2010 budget for mailings, Town Packets ($300) and possible chamber membership ($250), newsletter distribution, Berthoud Days Booth

Web- Possible CF members only Board much like the moderator Board based on those that pay dues
