County Clerk and Recorder staff hosts fund raiser

Larimer County Clerk & Recorder Spirit Committee Hosts Fund Raiser to Benefit Realities for Children and Neighbor to Neighbor

All during the month of April, the Larimer County Clerk & Recorder’s office Spirit Committee, on behalf of all Clerk & Recorder Staff, has been hosting fundraising efforts to benefit Realities for Children and Neighbor to Neighbor.

Along with donation cans on all Clerk & Recorder public counters throughout the month so the public can share their “loose change,” there are regular Friday (in April) burrito sales in the lobby of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices (LCCO) building located at 200 W. Oak in Fort Collins. The burritos have been made especially for this event by Café Mexicali in Fort Collins, and are being sold for $3.50 each. Workers and citizens who happen to be in the area on Fridays are welcomed to grab a tasty breakfast and help a good cause at the same time.

The main event is a Book/Media Sale. Throughout the month, the Clerk & Recorder’s office collects used books, CDs, DVDs, VCR tapes, etc. “We would appreciate receiving book, music or movie donations between now and April 28th,” said Angela Myers, Spirit Committee Liaison. Donations can be dropped off at the Citizens Information Center (CIC) on the first floor of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices building (200 W. Oak in Fort Collins), and in the Loveland Motor Vehicle office located on the first floor at 205 E. 6th Street in Loveland.

The month-long effort will culminate in a book sale to the held from 8:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – April 28th, 29th and 30th, in the first floor lobby of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices building (200 W. Oak in Fort Collins). Used, books, CDs, DVDs, and cassette and VCR tapes will be for sale. We will also have a burrito sale each morning of the book sale as well. The public is encouraged to come and buy books and burritos!

All proceeds from the event will be divided evenly between Realities for Children and Neighbor to Neighbor, two very appropriate charities to support during this “Child Abuse Prevention Month.” Any questions regarding this fundraiser should be directed to Angela Myers at 970/498-7840 or via email at amyers@larimer.org.

“Once again, we are proud of the efforts being made by staff on behalf of those less fortunate, ” said Scott Doyle, Larimer County Clerk & Recorder. “When I envisioned the Clerk & Recorder Spirit Committee originally, an important component was charitable activities. This particular effort gets the word out about the need in our community, while also helping to fund quality projects that will positively impact the kids and families directly.”
