Crystal Fire 100% Contained
The Crystal Fire is now 100% contained and is considered at full suppression with perimeter control. This applies to both the main area of the fire as well as the area in Redstone Canyon. Units continued to mop up today while others patrolled the fire and continued work on the fire line. Crews will continue mop up operations tomorrow, continuing suppression repair and reinforcement of control lines.
Residents are cautioned that they may continue to see smoke in the area due to the winds.
The Type 1 incident management team is turning the fire back to the Larimer County Type 3 management team tonight at 7:00 p.m. Unneeded resources continue to demobilize. Currently there are 126 people assigned to the fire.
The Crystal Fire Information Center has been closed, but residents can continue to get the latest updates from the recorded information line at 970-498-5500 as well as at www.larimer.org and www.inciweb.org/incident/2161. For post-evacuation support, residents can call 211 or 866-485-0211. The 211 lines are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Fire restrictions adapted by the Larimer County Board of Commissioners and within Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests on April 5 remain in effect.
