Loveland— This week, crews will conduct final paving operations on the new on and off-ramps at I-25 and Crossroads Boulevard. This work will require full closures of the ramps for approximately one day. The northbound ramp closures will take place tomorrow, June 8 and the southbound ramp closures will take place on Wednesday, June 9.
To complete the work, the following closures will be in place, weather permitting:
Tuesday, June 8
Crossroads Boulevard to Northbound I-25: The on-ramp to northbound I-25 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow, June 8. Detour: Motorists will be detoured east to Fairgrounds Avenue (Larimer County Road 5). Once on Fairgrounds Avenue, motorists will go north to State Highway (SH) 392 and then west on SH 392 to I-25.
Northbound I-25 to Crossroads Boulevard: The off-ramp to Crossroads Boulevard will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow, June 8. Detour: Motorists will be detoured to US 34. Once on US 34, motorists will go east to Centerra Parkway and then go north to Crossroads Boulevard.
Wednesday, June 9
Crossroads Boulevard to Southbound I-25: The on-ramp to northbound I-25 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9. Detour: Motorists will be detoured east to Centerra Parkway. Once on Centerra Parkway, motorists will go south to US 34 and then west on US 34 to I-25.
Southbound I-25 to Crossroads Boulevard: The off-ramp to Crossroads Boulevard will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9. Detour: Motorists will be detoured to State Highway (SH) 392, exit #262. Once on SH 392, motorists will go east to Fairgrounds Avenue and then go south to Crossroads Boulevard.
Following the ramp work, crews will close Crossroads Boulevard under I-25 for approximately one week, starting on Friday, June 11 to reconstruct the roadway. At this time, it is expected that Crossroads Boulevard will be closed from 9 a.m. on Friday, June 11 to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 18. During the closure, motorists can take Fairgrounds Avenue north to SH 392 or Rocky Mountain Avenue south to US 34.
The paving and reconstruction is part of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project that constructs roundabouts at the I-25 interchange to help improve mobility and safety. The Recovery Act is funding $3 million of the $6.4 million project and the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization, the City of Loveland and the Centerra Metropolitan District is funding the rest of the project. Jalisco International, Inc. is the contractor for this project, which is scheduled to be complete in August 2010.
In all, Colorado will receive nearly $400 million from the Recovery Act for highway projects and $121 million for transit projects.
