Fire Beat: Aug. 27, 2009

Monday, Aug. 17

  • BFPD assisted with a medical call for seizures on Bristlecone Court. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD responded to a reported structure fire in a commercial building on SW 42nd St. This was a very small fire with minor damage to the building.

Wednesday, Aug. 19

  • BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a motor vehicle accident on I-25 at mile marker 252. This was a single-vehicle rollover accident with heavy damage to the vehicle. Extrication was required for one passenger and two patients were transported.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call for chest pain on Second Street. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call for chest pain on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD responded to a smoke alarm activation on Indiana Avenue. Batteries were replaced in the resident’s smoke detectors.

Thursday, Aug. 20

  • BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on 95th Street. This was a controlled burn but the resident was asked to extinguish the fire due to not possessing a burn permit.

Friday, Aug. 21

  • BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on County Road 8E and County Road 31. There were no reported injuries.
  • BFPD responded to a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian accident near S.W. 42nd Avenue and South Garfield Avenue. The patient was injured and was transported.

Saturday, Aug. 22

  • BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call on WCR 8 and NCR 23 for a patient participating in a bike race who was experiencing chest pain. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD responded to a call on CR 23E and WCR 2. A passerby witnessed a small transformer explode in the field. Poudre Valley REA responded to the scene.
  • BFPD responded to the Valley Dirt Rider track for a male patient who had an open lower fracture to his leg. The patient was transported.

Sunday, Aug. 23

  • BFPD responded to a request for citizen assistance on Hubble Street.
  • BFPD responded to a power line down at Fifth Street and Capital Avenue. A fallen tree branch caused the power line to disconnect from their house. Xcel responded to the scene.
