Incident Activity for September & October 2010


Thursday, September 2

BFPD responded to a gas odor investigation on Bennett Road. Upon arrival, the house was evacuated and there was an odor of propane evident inside the residence. A leak was found in the line between the propane tank and the house. The propane company was notified and responded for repairs.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. This was a single car accident with no injuries reported.

Friday, September 3

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. This was a single car accident with minor damage and no injuries.

Saturday, September 4

BFPD responded to a two vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. This was a rear end type accident with moderate damage to the vehicles. Two patients complaining of neck pain were transported.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The rider had an injured head and was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported structure fire on Springhill Lane. This was an unauthorized bonfire, which was extinguished due to the responsible party not obtaining a burn permit.

Monday, September 6

BFPD assisted TVEMS and Berthoud Police Department with a medical call at the intersection of Little Bear and Pyramid Peak.

Tuesday, September 7

BFPD responded to a medical call on West County Road 8 for a patient experiencing difficulty breathing. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, September 8

BFPD responded to a patient having breathing difficulties at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported gas odor on Breckenridge Drive. A gas odor was detected inside the residence due to a burner turned on a gas stove.

Saturday, September 11

BFPD responded to a report of smoke in the area of County Road 23 and County Road 10. This was determined to be a controlled burn.

Sunday, September 12

BFPD crew assisted Loveland Fire with the Reservoir Road Fire between Flatiron Reservoir and Pinewood Reservoir.

Monday, September 13

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Redwood Circle for an unconscious person. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported residential structure fire on Crestridge Drive. Upon arrival the resident reported the smoke was coming from the air conditioning unit, blowing and venting Freon into the fan causing a smoke like appearance.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Burbank Street. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, September 14

BFPD responded to a reported residential structure fire on Weld County Road 3. This fire was confined to a small fire burning in the stove. The gas to the stove was disconnected and the stove fire was extinguished.

BFPD responded to a grass fire behind 208 South Third Street near the railroad tracks. The fire was quickly extinguished and was found to have been started in a small fire pit near the railroad tracks.

Wednesday, September 15

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Brehm Road for a sick person. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire with a motor vehicle accident on 42nd Street SW. The fire crew assisted with removing the driver from the vehicle.

Thursday, September 16

BFPD responded to a medical call for a sick person on First Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 @ mile marker 326. This was a two vehicle accident with moderate damage to both vehicles. There were no reported injuries.

Friday, September 17

BFPD responded to a report of a 6” cut gas line near I-25 and Highway 56. The crew determined that this was a large gas leak and an evacuation was instituted for all persons within ½ mile, including Interstate 25. The gas company was able to respond quickly and close the lines. The Interstate and surrounding area was then reopened.

BFPD responded to a medical call on North County Road 17 for a person who had his truck fall on him while working under it. The patient was transported.

Saturday, September 18,

BFPD assisted with a medical call for breathing problems at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a motorcycle accident at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The patient was released to his parent.

BFPD responded to a reported bonfire on Glen Drive. Due to the current ban for the county, the owner was told the fire would need to be extinguished.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on South Ninth Street. The alarm had been activated by smoke from an oven. The alarm was deactivated and reset.

Tuesday, September 21

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on the southbound exit from US Highway 287 to First Street. One patient was transported.

Wednesday, September 22

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Cheyenne Drive for a patient complaining of chest pains. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who was choking. The patient was transported.

Thursday, September 23

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Caballo Street. The patient was transported.

Friday, September 24

BFPD assisted with a medical emergency on Bruce Drive.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a patient who had fallen and was complaining of knee pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Fifth Street. This was a 2-vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud High School football game for a child suffering from an allergic reaction. TVEMS took over the patient care upon their arrival.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Lake Avenue. The patient care was transferred to TVEMS upon their arrival.

Tuesday, September 28

BFPD responded to a fire in a motor home on Seventh Street. Upon arrival to the scene, flames were coming from the roof and smoke and flames were found throughout the motor home. The fire was extinguished and it is being investigated for the cause of ignition.

Wednesday, September 29

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Highway 56 and County Road 3. The crew searched the area and was unable to find any burning areas.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for breathing problems on East County Road 2.

Thursday, September 30

BFPD assisted a walk in-patient who was having heart related symptoms. The patient was transported for further evaluation.

BFPD assisted with a patient experiencing back pain on W. County Road 10E. The patient was transported.
