Fire Report: Feb. 19, 2009

Monday, Feb. 9, 2009
BFPD responded to Windermere Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival a grass fire was found up against a barn as well as many small fires throughout the surrounding fields east of the residence. Loveland Fire also responded and helped extinguish spot fires east of the area. The source of ignition was determined to be from a 55-gallon drum that had a fire in it, which was extinguished the day before. Due to early morning winds, the barrel blew over scattering a few remaining hot embers.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Fourth St. for breathing problems. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009

BFPD responded to a controlled burn on N.C.R. 23.  The fire had gotten out of control and approximately two acres of field grass were fully involved. BFPD extinguished the fire and advised the owner not to burn for the remainder of the day due to high winds.

Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on CR 4E and Hwy 287. The vehicles had moderate damage and there were no injuries.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center, for a patient having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009

BFPD responded to Snowy Range for a medical call for a possible stroke. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on W.CR 4 for a patient having abdominal pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a citizen assist on Glen Dr.

Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who had fallen. The fire crew assisted with loading the patient for transport.
