Boulder County Fire Fighters Association
Though firefighting activities are winding down on the Four Mile Canyon Fire, twelve Firefighters are beginning to think about their own next steps and where they are going to take them. While trying to preserve the life and property of others affected by the most destructive, and costly, wildfire in Colorado history, these twelve firefighters lost almost everything they had. Together with their families these firefighters are faced with the task of beginning to build their lives again with little more than the shirts on their back and the possessions their family members were able to take away before evacuating their homes.
As a means of recognizing their dedication and unselfish acts of courage, the members of the Boulder County Firefighters Association (BCFFA) and the Boulder County Fire Chiefs Association (BCFCA) have established a “benefit fund” in order to raise much needed financial support for these firefighters and their families. Many of these folks are currently living from day-to-day without knowing what is going to come next. Though the generosity and out pouring of food and clothing has been unbelievable, what they most need now is some financial assistance in order to begin the re-building their lives and the lives of their families.
Any person, group, or business wishing to make a financial contribution to this benefit fund may stop by any 1st Bank location along the Front Range and mention the name of the BCFFA. Contributions can also be mailed to any branch location. Another option is to text “Fire” to 27722 upon which a $10 donation to the fund will be made and billed to their phone bill. Donations received via text message will then be deposited into the 1st Bank account.
Questions regarding this benefit fund can be directed to Brett Haberstick, the Boulder County Firefighters Association’s benefit fund executor, at 303.589.2179 or via email to: email@example.com or Dan Eamon, President of the boulder County Fire Fighters Association at 303-594-9464 or via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
