Hunter Hawkins

Hunter Hawkins, a 2009 graduate of Berthoud High School, has been called to serve for two years in the Mexico City West Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hawkins, son of Bryce and Nancy Hawkins, will serve the people of Mexico and teach about Jesus Christ in the Spanish language.

He is an Eagle Scout, and while attending Berthoud High School played varsity lacrosse and soccer, sang with the Bridge Between Show Choir, performed in various school musicals and with “Priority Five” an a cappella men’s singing group which recently performed at the Bands of Berthoud event August 7.

When asked about the upcoming assignment, Hawkins noted, “I think that serving a mission will be a great experience. I’m excited and a little nervous. It is a comfort to know that my brother’s and one of my sisters have served missions all in foreign countries — Thailand, Bulgaria and Korea. Following the completion of his mission, Hawkins plans to attend BYU-Idaho.

Hawkins will speak in the LDS Church Berthoud Ward Sacrament Meeting Sunday, August 22, at 9:00 a. m. The church is located at 555 Spartan Avenue in Berthoud. The meeting is open to the public, with friends encouraged to attend.
