Larimer County, Colorado – Larimer County’s Agricultural Advisory Board Educational Forum ‘Growing Your Future in Larimer County’ take place on Saturday, March 13, 2010, 8:30 a.m.-5pm at the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building, 200 W. Oak Street, Fort Collins, 1st floor.
Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture John R. Stulp will open the session with a look at the value agriculture brings to our state and local economies. Session topics to follow include: the history of water and its use in Colorado; grazing management; weed control; wind and solar use; global climate change; agricultural marketing; agricultural taxes; and, starting an Ag-related business.
Speakers from Colorado State University Extension, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Larimer County Weed District, and professional practitioners will provide attendees with a greater understanding of a variety of issues related to a successful agricultural operation. Vendors from various sectors of the agricultural community will be available throughout the day to help answer questions and illustrate their products and services.
Early registration goes through Monday, March 8. Attendance costs rise after Monday.
