At 10:46 p.m. last night (12/28/11), Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 3500-block of Rifle Court in Laporte on the report of a physical disturbance. On arrival it was ascertained that Robert Don Davis, DOB: 12/15/66, had threatened a 48-year-old female, also from Laporte, with a gun and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, but was subsequently found a short distance away after he crashed his vehicle into a parked car.
Davis was charged with Sexual Assault (F3), Felony Menacing (F5), Prohibited use of a Weapon (M2), 3rd Degree Assault (M1), Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (M0), Driving under the Influence of Prescription Drugs (M0), Reckless Driving (MT2) and Domestic Violence (EN).
The victim was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with minor injuries and was later released.
Robert Davis was booked into the Larimer County Jail and is being held pending a bond hearing scheduled for later today.
The charge(s) are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
