The League of Women Voters of Larimer County will hold a meeting to share ideas on sustainability on Feb. 8, at 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and at 7 – 9 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Foothills Unitarian Church located at 1815 Yorktown Ave. in Fort Collins, just off Drake Road. The public is invited to attend.
The League will discuss a definition of sustainability that will include balancing the environment with economic and social needs. It is recognized that current decisions of public policy are inter-dependent and have an impact on the welfare of future generations.
Various groups and businesses in Northern Colorado have begun innovative and sustainable practices. League members will share what the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland are doing, as well as CSU, Poudre School District, Larimer County, hospitals and businesses.
The League hopes to inform and launch a discussion in the community concerning the many ideas surrounding sustainability, and to show what people can do to help make Northern Colorado a more sustainable community.
Please plan on attending one of these two meetings. If you have any questions, please call Georgia Locker at 482-4875.Print This Post
