Former Denver Man Sentenced For Sex Trafficking Of A Child And Aiding And Abetting

Denver – Timothy Wayne Lee, age 45, formerly of Denver, was sentenced late today to serve 180 months (15 years) in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge Robert E. Blackburn for sex trafficking of a child and aiding and abetting, United States Attorney John Walsh and FBI Special Agent in Charge James Yacone announced. Following his 15 year sentence, Lee was ordered by Judge Blackburn to serve 10 years on supervised release. The defendant appeared at the sentencing in custody, and was remanded at the conclusion of the hearing.

Lee was indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on September 30, 2010. He pled guilty before Judge Blackburn to charges from both the District of Colorado and the Eastern District of California on July 12, 2011. He was sentenced today, December 2, 2011.

According to court documents, beginning in 2003 and ending in 2009, Lee was responsible for the sex trafficking of minors who had not yet attained the age of 18. Lee did knowingly transport minors who had not attained the age of 18 across state lines.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and its Innocence Lost Working Group, which includes the Lakewood Police Department, the Denver Police Department, the Aurora Police Department, the Thornton Police Department, and the Commerce City Police Department.

 

The defendant was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brenda Taylor.
