Obituaries: Kay Carter, Donna Klump

Kay A. Carter

Kay Adele Carter of Berthoud, passed away at McKee Medical Center Hospice Care Center on Feb. 12, 2009. She was 69 years old.

Born to Chester Ellenberger and Viola Smith Ellenberger in Grand Island, Neb. on Dec. 18, 1939, she grew up in Fort Collins, graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1958.

Carter worked as a secretary/paralegal for over 18 years in Berthoud and served on the planning commission for Larimer County. Besides her love for law, she equally loved her family. She never knew a stranger and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

She is survived by her three children and their families, Suzette, Seth and Jenna Hedrick of Johnstown; Greg, Jenny and Katlyn Carter of Walden, Colo.; Matt, Tawna and Teryn Carter of Craig, Colo.; and sister Joyce Phillips of Berthoud and three nieces.

Memorial services were held at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.

Donna L. Klump

Donna L. Klump, age 77, of Loveland passed away at her home with her husband and her two daughters by her side on Feb. 15, 2009. She was born Dec. 19, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas to Murray and Wanda (Oldbury) Maclean.

Klump graduated from Leon High School in Leon, Kan. and then graduated from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.  She played for many years in the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento, Calif. Klump also enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and camping. She loved being with her children and grandchildren and attending their activities.

On June 28, 1953, she married Robert William Klump in El Dorado, Kan.  The couple moved from Sacramento to Loveland 12 years ago.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob Klump of Loveland; daughters Susan Maclean of Leipzig, Germany and Karen Kleber (son-in-law Dr. William Kleber) of Berthoud; sister Jo Ann Turrentine of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren, Robert, Max, Leigh and Sam. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has already taken place. Private memorial services will be held in Berthoud.
