Carolyn Marie Boettcher-Schultz, 88, died peacefully at her home in Berthoud, Colorado on August 6 surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn Johnson was born on September 9, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended one year of college as an art major before marrying Herbert Boettcher in 1946, divorcing after 12 years, raising her sons Jim and Ken as a single mother then moving to Loveland, Colorado in 1978. When hired as a waitress at The Hobnob Restaurant, she became a devoted member of the family and took under her wing the owner’s three children, who loved her like a grandmother. Carolyn retired after a long serving career and focused on her art once again, completing many impressive paintings in different medians. She and Harlen Schultz, her caring and beloved husband for the last 19 years, were always busy in support of one another’s interests, especially attending auctions and yard sales, working tirelessly to put on their huge biannual garage sales.

In addition to Harlen, survivors include a sister, Jean Stabler, her sons Jim (Patty) and Ken (Annie), grandchildren, Kelly, Dylan, Jacob, Casey, Jonah, Matthew, Elizabeth, Catherine and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Ceisel and brother, Robert Johnson.

The family will be having a memorial to celebrate Carolyn’s life with a gallery showing of her works of art during an open house at The Hobnob Restaurant on Sunday, August 30 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
