Obituary: Kimberlee Michele Bashor

Kim BashorKimberlee Michele (Stevens) Bashor, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2016 in Hygiene, Colorado. She was born July 15, 1973 in Boulder to Scott Stevens and Sharon Nelson.

Kim grew up in Berthoud in the family home that her father and grandfather built. She attended school in Berthoud, graduating in 1991. She was active in all sports, but truly loved volleyball and was a standout player. Kim attended the Univ. of Colorado (Boulder), graduating with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

She was such a beautiful, spirited and very intelligent young lady who had many friends. Her contagious smile and sense of humor will never be forgotten. She had a love of all music, but especially blue grass. She enjoyed all the blue grass festivals with her dad.

Kim married the love of her life, Wade Bashor on March 25, 1995 in Lyons, Colorado and they would’ve been married for 21 years in March of this year. Living on the Bashor farm outside of Hygiene along with her beloved puppies. She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii where they spent their honeymoon.

Kim was employed with Boulder County Social Services for many years. In August 2015, she earned her Master’s Degree through the Univ. of Chicago, School of Professional Psychology in Forensic Psychology. She recently began her new career as the Deputy Court Administrator with the City of Boulder.

Kim will carry with her the love of her husband and family. She will be sorely missed at all large family events and gatherings with her friends but will forever be present in spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Wade Bashor of Hygiene; her parents, Scott & Sharon Stevens of Berthoud; her sister & brother-in-law, Tina & Faren Stroh of Loveland; her nieces, Payton Stroh, Rachel Bashor and Samantha Bashor; her nephews, Cale Stroh, Keaton Stroh, Colton Bashor and Wyatt Bashor; her aunts and uncles, Pat & Jim Araya of Manteca, California, Rita & Doug Helgoth of Berthoud, Ed & Barb Nelson of Estes Park, Jerry & Ah Mai Nelson of Longmont, Vic & Marylin Shaw of Brighton, Kerrilee Earl of Denver, Paul & Jodi Bashor of Hygiene; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

A Celebration Gathering for friends will be from 2-5 pm on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Moose Lodge in Longmont. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
