Obituary: Lillian R. Meade



Assisted by Pathways Hospice and her daughter, Dorothy, Lillian R. Meade traveled a gentle passage through death into the presence of her Lord on Monday, May 25.

A native of New Jersey, Meade move to Hobe Sound, Fla., from Toms River, where she lived with her second husband, F. Paul Meade, for 19 years before moving to Ocean Palms Independent Living in Stuart, Fla. There they enjoyed participating in all the activities for many more years.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward H. Roman and by husband F. Paul Meade. She was a dedicated volunteer and continued in community activities until her death. Meade’s many interests included travel, aerobics, knitting, crafts, line dancing and everyone she met.

Survivors are her daughter, Dorothy Kurlander of Berthoud, her son, Edward H. Roman of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., stepson, Jerry Meade and wife Lyn of Paramus, N.J. and stepdaughter Marilyn Purdy and husband Nick of Earlville, N.Y., seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Berthoud. Inurnment services will be held later in June in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland 80537.
