Obituary: Marina V. Seering

[1]Marina V. Seering, age 99, (working on a 100), of Berthoud went to heaven on July 23, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village in Loveland. Born in the Dominican Republic, immigrated in 1929 and became a naturalized citizen in 1943. Married and later divorced from Vincent LaRaque, they had three children, Denis (deceased military), Yvonne L. Dawdy (Jack) of Berthoud, and Gabriel LaRaque of California. Later she married Al Seering (deceased).

A very strong believer of Salvation through Jesus, ministering several years as a volunteer at Berthoud Living Center, worked in the Berthoud Public Library literacy program as a volunteer instructor and was Berthoud Citizen of The Year in 1997. Her smile was like a magnet affecting all who came in contact with her and left a lifetime of memories with all whom she met. She was an accomplished artist selling and giving away many paintings, was a member of the Berthoud Kitchen Band and was seen often riding her scooter all over Berthoud.

She has three grandsons, Denis Dawdy of Loveland, Michael Dawdy (Ann) of New York, David Dawdy (Michelle) of Virginia; and six great-grandchildren: Geno Dawdy, Andrew Dawdy, Eric Dawdy, Joey Walker-Dawdy, Juliana Dawdy and Kyla Dawdy. (and her beloved cat of 13 years). She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Inurnment at the Columbarium will be held at 5 p. m. followed by an open house celebration of her life at 6 p. m. Thursday, August 12 at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 2500 North Garfield Avenue, Loveland Colorado.
