Obituary: Marion Kay Jones

Marion Kay Jones, 58, of Berthoud passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family following a valiant struggle against breast cancer.

Marion was born in Ellensburg, Wash. to Thomas Lovell and Kay Imogene Gibb. She lived in Southern California, Washington and Oregon, and spent the last 24 years of her life in Colorado.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Douglas Allen MacGregor. She is survived by her husband Thomas Jones and children: Michelle Farmer (Billy), Blain Hubbard (Dawn), Nicole MacGregor, Heather Clark (Jared), Jonathan MacGregor (Jenny), Sarah Mellman (Mike), Nolan MacGregor (Amanda), Josh Jones and Misty Jones. Marion is survived by 22 grandchildren: Brandon, Justin, Breanna, Brayden, Madison, Kyan, Shelby, Cameron, Saebrynne, Kaytie, Ysabelle, Jaxsen, Taylin, Kaley, Brooklyn, Christopher, Anna, Ian, Elizabeth, Makenna, Nolan and Telyssa.

Some of her favorite memories were being able to share in the joy of watching many of her grandchildren being born. Marion loved to sew and created beautiful blessing gowns and quilts for each her grandchildren.

Marion loved camping and enjoying the wilderness. She enjoyed the solitude and the beauty of nature. Marion was an avid gardener. She grew beautiful flowers and wonderful produce, which she then shared with everyone around her.

Marion was actively involved in her church callings and compassionate service programs. She could always be counted on to eagerly participate. She was an active worker at the Denver L.D.S. Temple.

A memorial service was held in Marion’s honor at the Berthoud L. D.S. Chapel on Memorial Day. Many beautiful memories of her ever-present love were shared with family and friends. Graveside services were held Thursday June 3, at the Berthoud Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marion’s name to Pathways Hospice or the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research Fund.
