Marjorie Craig, 1934 – 2010


Marjorie Craig passed away on Dec. 23, 2010 at the age of 76. She was born Marjorie Nadine Yeager, March 25, 1934 in Longmont, Colorado to William Yeager and Katie Burbach-Yeager. She was the youngest of six children.

Her father farmed land south east of Berthoud for 17 years, and this is where Marjorie lived while she was growing up. She attended the same school in Mead all 12 years. She graduated from Mead High School in 1952.

Lewis and Marjorie Craig celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Dec 12, 2010. During their early years of marriage they lived on farm near Longmont and Fredrick. Eventually they moved away from the farm and into the city.

She lived most of her married life in the Northglenn, Thornton area. Their present home is in Thornton, CO, where they have lived for the past 15 years. Marjorie had been a patient at a full care facility in Northglenn for about a year.

During her career years she worked several years at Northglenn Optometric Center. During this time she was an active board member of the Northglenn Judo Club. She later went to work at Lucent Technologies in the training department. She retired from Lucent Technologies in 1999 after 20 years.

She is survived by her husband Lewis Craig, daughter, Linda Fox and her husband Larry who reside in Pearland, Texas, her son David Craig and his wife Denette, who reside in Thornton, Colorado. She has four grandchildren, Nicole Meier, Mandy Weaver, Jeff Craig, and Krystina Dickman, and three great grandchildren Lauren Weaver, Cody Weaver, and Julieanna Dickman. Her sisters Laurene Jones and her husband Don who reside in Berthoud, Colorado and Mary Ellen Blackford and her husband Larry Newberry who reside in San Diego, California. Two sisters-in-law Helen Craig, Brighton, Colorado, and Shirley Yeager, Arvada. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Roland Yeager, sisters Rose Dreith and Helen Ross and brothers-in-law Benjamin Dreith and Stanley Ross. Services will be at Bear Valley Christian Church 6800 W Hampton Ave, Lakewood, Colorado, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ft Logan Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
