Philo Club Offers Scholarships

The Loveland Philo Club is offering a community college/technical school scholarship for residents in the Loveland/Berthoud area.

Residents must be able to show financial need and strong motivation to complete occupational training, have a career goal and school in mind, and be determined to succeed in the work world. There is no age restriction on who may apply.

Scholarships in the past have included, but are not limited to: automotive and aviation mechanics, radiological technician, cosmetology, construction management, computer graphics, certified nurse assistant, dental assistant, culinary arts, retail merchandising, childcare, and business.

Applications are available at area high schools, The Women’s Center, Aims Community College in Loveland, Front Range Community College, The House of Neighborly Service, Alternatives to Violence and Project Self-Sufficiency.

Applications must be postmarked by March 31, and candidates must be available for interviews on April 27 between 2 and 6 p.m. at the Thompson School District R2-J Administration Building, 800 S. Taft Ave., Loveland. Eligible applicants will be notified by mail and telephone to set up an interview time. Scholarships will be announced by May 5.
