Everdina (Diny) Geerken and William Bradley (Brad) Pickert, Sr. were married Dec. 13, 1958, at the First Congregational Church in Newark Valley, New York. Brad and Diny were high school sweethearts and operated a dairy farm in Berkshire, New York for 30 years.
They moved their family and 183 cows to Berthoud in January of 1981. They are still operating Pickert Dairy LLC in partnership with their two sons – Brad, Jr. and Scott. Diny and Brad were instrumental along with the Booster Club, in developing Berthoud High School’s Max Marr Field back in 1982.
Brad Pickert has enjoyed singing with the Loveland Valentine City Barbershop chorus for 23 years. He has also been active in many dairy organizations.
Diny Pickert has been active in the Colorado Dairy Women’s Organization and enjoys gardening and growing flowers, especially roses. She is also involved in many local organizations. Both enjoy watching their grandkids’ sporting activities.
After many years of working hard side-by-side, they are still each other’s best friends. They have enjoyed numerous times together laughing and having fun! Their marriage has endured by taking it one day at a time. They are blessed with four children: Brad Jr. and wife Kathy of Berthoud; Adele Katchuk and husband Kerry of Clearwater, Fla.; Bob and wife Kelly of Berkshire, N. Y.; and Scott and wife Linda of Berthoud. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Brad and Diny Pickert would like everyone to join them in celebrating their 50th anniversary at the Berthoud Area Community Center, 248 Welch Ave., on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. The family has requested no gifts, please.
